He had three seasons with 1600+ all purpose yards and 3 other seasons as the second RB totaling over 1100 yards from scrimmage. 

 

Not to mention 65 TDs.  I think we can give the guy a little more credit than "one great season." 

 

He also went to three Pro Bowls and was named an All-Pro twice.

Counting his KR yardage, he got over 2000 yards his rookie year (along with 16 TDs) and over 1900 his second year along with 10 TDs.  He had a very good 6 year start to his career, and I'd definitely say he had more than one great season.

 

Still unbelievable that VY won ROY over MJD.

 

Vince Young was a quarterback and in today's NFL quarterbacks get too much credit for wins. MJD definitely deserved the award that year.

My favorite was the play that clinched his NFL rushing title. It happened during my first Jaguars game, so I got to hear the PA announcement.

  One major benefit of NFL Network and NFL Sirius Radio is it gives many players late in their NFL playing careers and others that have retired an opportunity to get into broadcasting.  

 

  Yesterday morning,  I heard Ravens WR Steve Smith as a co-host on NFL Sirius Radio and thought he did a very good job.   I think Smith could easily be following the path of Nate Burleson,  another WR who displayed great broadcasting potential while still playing,  and is now part of NFL Network.

Marshall Faulk also started broadcasting before he retired. I think his idea was to do something while recovering from a knee injury and his knee never fully recovered.

I had 3rd row seats on the 48 yard line for 375 and was in the lower bowl corner on the goal line to see Merriman get blown up live and hear the resounding "Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!!" which echoed throughout the stadium as we celebrated the instant replay on what seems now to be a very small video board.  Great memories of a great Jaguar.

Maurice gave everything to the Jaguars and I will be the first to apologize for never really having a supporting cast around him and for running him into the ground so quickly (he was literally 2/3 of our total offense some years).

I still remember the Saints game when the QB (Quinn Gray?) threw the meaningless pick at the end.  The CB tried to return it and MJD flew out of NOWHERE and leveled him.  Guy never stopped playing until the whistle sounded.
