In my giant Suh post yesterday, he was one of the two guys they likely needed to cut in order to have enough money to sign Suh. Randy Starks being the other one. Miami signing Suh would make it a lot tougher to match a sizable deal for Charles Clay.

 

NFL.com says the Dolphins will cut LB Philip Wheeler. Although performance could have been a factor, Miami obviously was thinking about his salary too.

Miami is expected to make a hard push toward signing top free-agent prospect Ndamukong Suh. To do that the Dolphins need as much cap space as possible -- prior to Wheeler's release they sat anestimated $9.5 million under the cap. Wheeler might not be the last casualty from South Beach before the market opens on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

 

I don't see how the Dolphins can match any offer because other teams know about their cap situation and that they can overpay Charles Clay to pry him away.

As long as those players don't come in the divison I don't mind as long as we get Thomas and mccourty

Julius Thomas was already a priority regardless of whether we get Suh and Cobb or not. I never read anything about the Jaguars targeting Murray.

Man I really hope they are not already out of the running for Suh just a few hours into legal tampering.

 

That is the one guy I wanted them to go after hard. Facelift to the entire defense...elevates them to a whole new level. If they let him slip away simply because of money then that would be extremely disappointing.

 

I just don't want to be stuck over paying for the Jerry Hughes of the world when there is some top end talent to be had.
