This is starting to look like a done deal. Excited to see Bortles with a legit TE.

I really hope something comes out from more people here soon. I want this to get done. He has some ???, but a guy his size and talent would be great for this offense and for Bortles.

I'd be pumped about this signing. A stud pass catching TE is a young QBs best friend.

Other than Oakland pulling out, is there anything else that points to him signing?

I'm in a wait and see approach. Caldwell and Gus have done a good job up to this point. I trust their decision making.

If it does happen, it will be interesting to see what happens with Lewis. Cut, extended to lesser deal, kept at 8.2 million as a blocker?

@JasonPhilCole

Two sources indicating TE Julius Thomas is just about done/signed in Jacksonville

Obviously, twitter responses were negative about him coming here to never be heard from again. Hopefully, we can start to change this perception of the team. Sick of the Jaguars being a non-factor, waste of space in the NFL game.

I really don't give 2 sh*ts about what other fans think of us or the media

Every team gets mocked by other fans on social media. Even the Pats/Seahawks etc. Not sure why that would bother you at all.

Don't care what other fans say or think.. What bothers me is all the L's..

Team needs a culture change and badly. Thomas would be a very nice start..

I'm interested in the terms. He's a talented pass catcher and a great athlete, but of course there's risk. He goes from catching passes from the greatest (regular season) QB ever, in a high flying pass offence, to, well... our offence - an offence that didn't spend much time in the red zone, where Thomas excels. Here's hoping for improvement.

#Jaguars are trying to give Bortles as much help as they can. Planning on adding Julius Thomas as "move" TE.

a great QB has a good TE. Tom Brady has Gronk, Big Ben has always had Heath Miiller, Peyton Manning had Dallas Clark and Julius Thomas, but nto anymore!

My worry is that he goes from being the 4th option to the first. Defenses will focus on him. I hope he adjusts. And he is utterly useless as a blocker.

Espn just reported that Seattle is also interested in Thomas..

Worst case scenario is that takes pressure off of Hurns/Lee/Robinson and allows them to get softer coverage and grow.

Posted this in the FA thread but I'll put it here too.

24 touchdown receptions in 2 seasons for Thomas. Wow.

For comparison Marcedes Lewis has 27 in 9 seasons.
