Oh well, our own guys get more time to develop. We still do need a vet receiver though.

If Maclin is off the market this just kills me since we will have no good option to bring in a good veteran WR with Cobb and Torrey already gone

Why? People keep saying that, but we already have 3 guys and hopefully Thomas. There aren't enough plays to share with another vet receiver in the mix. You don't need a name, you just need a guy to be #4 and we already have Sanders/Doss who can do that.

Really hope we can get Mccourty or Bulaga.

I actually like the idea of Demarco Murray, I like Denars Robinson but would like somebody proven.

Quote:Boy, you can tell you're not a scout because sometimes stat numbers do lie. He had those numbers with an inept offensive line, play caller, no clear cut number#1 receiver in addition to his best receiver gotten injured during week 10 vs the cowboys. Who else or what other rookie can succeed under those circumstances?

You forget about him missing wide open WRs under 10 yards too? Im far from a numbers person and have gave my reasons for not expecting anything from Blake in the past. Biggest reason is most QBs dont improve drastically in being accurate. Which he was clearly lacking. Good players around him or not, when there were plays to be made he didnt make the easy ones far to often

Quote:Hope not.  Draft is fairly weak at our needs (FS, 4-3 RDE, 4-3 LB, CB)

In contrast, this is a terrific year for 3-4 defenses.

I think we'll see balance in our draft.  Too many needs not to.  Don't think we'll see defense heavy as we did offense heavy last year.

Williams//Gregory//Fowler//Beasley in the 1st...

Kendricks//Harold//McKinney//Dawson in the 2nd...

P. Smith//Perryman//B. Jones//Holliman in the 3rd...

I think most would be pretty happy if 1-3 rounds went some combo of the above.

I agree with needing balance and I'm personally hoping more for:

DL//Leo//Otto in 1st

RT in 2nd.

CB/LB/DL in 3rd.

If this doesn't demonstrate that the demand for QB's is much greater than the supply in the NFL,  I don't know what does.

Sounds like we need a QB. Maybe we will draft Mariota afterwards.

Still in the running for TE Thomas, RB Murray, and OT Bulaga.  I'm giddy at the thought.

I'd welcome Murray. He'd carry us til Caldwell drafts our RB. I also like Murray more on our team than Indy

Just in case something strange happens before Tue:

Quote:Jordan Cameron | CLE

(March 8, 2015 6:35 PM EDT)

Yahoo's Rand Getlin reports the Jaguars view free agent Jordan Cameron as a fallback option if they can't land Julius Thomas.

The Jaguars have no known competition for Thomas, so the marriage there seems inevitable. Cameron is the next-best tight end in free agency, and Getlin reports the Browns, Raiders, Broncos and Seahawks "are in play."

Swimming upstream against a whole lot of history if we think Murray is going to come off that workload, at his age, with his injury history, and the downgrade in surrounding talent to be a real difference making player for us.

And I'm not necessarily saying don't take the gamble, either, cause we do have the money to burn...it's just a very good chance that it will indeed be burning the money.

With Cobb and (maybe) Maclin gone we need A veteran like Thomas. We can't be going into this year with all second year players. Bortles needs someone!!

According to BCC, Caldwell is trying to negotiate a deal with Murray's agent right now. And it seems like Cowboys fans aren't expecting him to come back.
