I'd guess it's lowered than the reported 5 years/$45 million. Probably hoping their back to back Super Bowl trips could sway him to take less.

I don't get this stance.

I understand the need for fiscal sanity, but...

1. Should it come at the expense of Bortles' development?

2. We have to spend the money ANYWAY.

3. Thomas represents a substantial talent upgrade.

With our immense cap space and no need to extend any contracts in the near future on our team, there's absolutely no reason to be stingy with money. This is pretty much the only time you can just throw money around and not really get in trouble if it doesn't pan out.

I'd take whatever is being said about what the Jags have offered with a grain of salt. Nothing matters until ink is on paper.

I explained in a previous post but I agree Thomas is an upgrade for the Jags. I just don't think he's an amazing TE, there are a lot of question marks with him and there is no reason to get into a battle with another team and pay more then you think he's worth.

I'm going to give Dave credit. They have been busy from the looks. All of this may not come to fruition, but he did try. That's all we can really ask right? I hope come tomorrow, we've got a some new talent to add to this roster. Is it 4:00 tomorrow too? If so, who the hell picks the times of 4:00? lol
