Mason foster. He can play the same position and is better than Skuta. I understand FA, but these type of players were going for 1-2 mi last year, inflation is bad but this is a bit much. Much of the SF LB corp makes less than a million. We signed Dekota Watson for 1.5 just last year for the same otto position. There are good players out there, like Foster, I don't think Skuta is in his class.

People are going to have to rethink about what deals are considered bad or not. By next year the salary cap has raised like over 25% over the past 5 years. Players are gonna be paid more money than seemed right a few years ago.

look at his track record.  he has played for two teams and started for neither.  it is what it is.  expectations should not be high.

Ridiculous. Skuta is 250 pounds and was a middle linebacker, he has played every linebacker spot. So now he is an Otto and nothing else, and Foster is a middle and nothing else? People get too caught up in Otto this or Sam that. They move around, even Gus said sometimes one Otto, sometimes 3 Ottos. These names are cute, but the two players are both linebackers, similar sized, and Foster has much better production. Right now the Bears are trying to land him and with good reason he was a bright spot for the Bucs. Skuta, not so much.

Dekoda Watson had done literally nothing his entire career. You had to be blind to not see how badly that was going to end.

 

From WalterFootball. Before last year I thought his FA grades where awful but he was pretty good with last years so it redeemed him a little for me. Hopefully Skuta can prove him wrong and he can go back to being an idiot again.

Or maybe it's a case of exactly the opposite; that they in fact do know 'how it works' and so they aren't putting all their cookies into it. The goal is to build via the draft and only supplement via f/a. Still, given our season records the past few years I would be kind'a surprised if after 4:00pm Tuesday the Jags didn't make a splash in f/a this year. We won't really know who is going where until late Tuesday afternoon; until then, it's all talk from player agents and the talking heads.

Watson was just like Skuta or Parnell.  Played very very little until his final year with a previous team and did ok. 

 

We just need to hope neither are another Watson.

you might want to educate yourself on what the otto is supposed to be.


Skuta has played extensively at olb in a 3-4 and has experience playing at the lline of scrimmage. Foster is not that type of player.

Skuta was a middle. There was a big article on him learning to transfer to olb. He wasnt born into it or have some gift for it. If anything he looks physically like a middle than Foster. So Skuta can learn otto but Foster cannot? Thats bunk.
