He also added Bradford as ammo.  If a team is really interested in him, they might take a slew of picks + Bradford for the pick to get Mariota.

Oh, I don't think he's great ammo either, I'm just saying that he's potentially ammo as well.  If Chip Kelly has some sort of master plan, it'd have to either be:


A. Use Bradford as ammo


OR


B. Use Sanchez as ammo, keep Bradford as backup.

The trade makes absolutely no sense if there's not adequate draft compensation to make it worthwhile.  What's even more screwy from the Eagles perspective is they let McCoy go and now they're pursuing Murray.  Chip Kelly is trying to do his darndest to show the world that Gene Smith wasn't such a lousy GM after all.  He's either going to look like an absolute genius, or an arrogant buffoon.  My money is on the latter. 

 

My wife's an Eagles fan (or at least she was, these decisions have made her question her loyalty to the team), and she says that some of the Eagles fans have a InChipWeTrust mentality.  I'm starting to wonder if Trust is kryptonite for decision makers.

Sanchez is KNOWN to be NOT GOOD.  Mariota at least has the potential to be REALLY GOOD.

 

And case and point, they will need to trade away a ton of picks to get up to the top 5 to get Mariota.  This trade did NOTHING to increase their chances of making that possible.  They already had a veteran with (some) trade value in Foles (probably better value than Bradford).  And they are giving away more picks than they got.... it makes 0 sense.

 

And lets say a team takes that deal with the Eagles which includes basically the Eagles entire draft the next two years.... that is beyond stupid.  The Eagles would be putting all their eggs in one basket which we know doesn't work.
