Netanyahu Speech To Congress
|
Quote:Congress has always had a role in foreign policy. What's funny is all the demoncrats crying about one of their own favorite tactics. Yea I'm not saying it hasn't been done before, I'm saying in every instance it's congress stepping outside of their role. It was wrong when Pelosi did it, it's wrong with Cochran does it. Quote:Congress has always had a role in foreign policy. What's funny is all the demoncrats crying about one of their own favorite tactics. So when do we stop supporting the "but they did it argument?" They are all wrong.
Quote:So again I ask you, we should not be negotiating with them? Nope, just look at where it got Obama in 6 years. Again, he is being used as a puppet.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.
Quote:Nope, just look at where it got Obama in 6 years.Sigh, you are hopeless. Enjoy the warhawking I suppose.
Quote:So when do we stop supporting the "but they did it argument?" They are all wrong. I just think its funny that the Rs finally start playing by the D rules and THEN it's bad. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:I just think its funny that the Rs finally start playing by the D rules and THEN it's bad. It's always bad but you think it's funny because it's "you're team"? Do you support their actions that by some accounts have now weakened our position in negotiations?
Quote:It's always bad but you think it's funny because it's "you're team"? Oblahblah "negotiations" = weaker America, so yeah, I support his opposition weakening his position. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Yeah, we should totally make all of our future negotiations absolutely worthless! Give everyone a reason to back out on any treaties we sign. Great idea.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:Exactly my point, they're beyond naive to think now the Democrats simply won't do the same thing when a Republican President attempts to negotiate with a foreign nation. Everyone is overthinking this. Only Congress, namely the senate can approve of defeat treaties. Remember Woodrow Wilson? He was very proud of his League of Nations and wanted the treaty of Versailles approved but despite his efforts the Senate voted it down. History doesn't call them traitors. Even if you disagree with it, the Congressman who signed it are right, they are the ones who get the final say.
And to be perfectly clear, I'm neither Republican nor Democrat nor anything else. I don't vote or get involved in politics. I just enjoy watching all these bumbling idiots, all different shades of the same qualities (idiocy, stubbornness, hypocrisy, etc) it's quite funny sometimes for all the wrong reasons.
I pay my taxes and keep quiet Quote:Everyone is overthinking this. Yes that's where the republicans can and honestly I expect them to vote down any treaty Obama proposed with Iran that allowed nuclear development. But that's not what they did, there's no treaty to vote for. I'd expect to congress not to fund any back door negotiation either, for example if Obama got cute and said well were not signing a treaty but we have an understanding Iran you do ___ well let you develop nuclear technology and will give you ____ aid. I'd expect congress to not fund it. Anyway Obama slices it congress would have their chance to review it and decide what to do, but that's not what's happened. Just like Obama can't create legislation by executive order, congress can't negotiate with foreign nationals. It's like the entire damn government is ignoring the constitution, that's something to be worried about.
Bad News
Netanyahu in trouble at home. Election is closer than he would like, and possibility he loses. Good News Jeb reaches out and needs a VP for his presidential run. GOP members blood rushes downwards. Then rush to naturalize the Bib. Cruz objects. Says he wasnt born here.Says Bibby sounds too much like Obibby. But then again, there's always some dirt under a bush. Gonna be a crazy 2016. Please don't email me. I've forwarded it all to Hillary. She will handle it.

Quote:How does negotiating = weaker america, just curious.Look at his use of the president's name. That should tell you all you need to hear. Right = Real Americans, Left = traitors it's pretty simple.
Quote:Yes that's where the republicans can and honestly I expect them to vote down any treaty Obama proposed with Iran that allowed nuclear development. But that's not what they did, there's no treaty to vote for.Congress will turn down anything because republicans HAVE to be against anything the president or the democrats do because that was their stated goal since day one. No agreement will allow their development of nuclear weapons and it's silly to assume that is even the case. More than likely it will involve selling them power/medical grade enriched Uranium. Along with that I am assuming they will agree to a moratorium on research into advancement for a period of time while further negotiations are carried out. You can't not talk to a country for a long time then all of sudden come to an agreement. Of course this all assumes that each party is negotiating in good faith. Is Iran? Who knows at our level but our congress has given the impression that they will not approve of ANY agreement at all regardless of the outcome. Bunch of little babies. Quote:Congress will turn down anything because republicans HAVE to be against anything the president or the democrats do because that was their stated goal since day one. I can't think of anything this President has done that I would want my representative to go along with.
Quote:I can't think of anything this President has done that I would want my representative to go along with.No offense Eric, but that's because you don't think the government shouldn't do anything at all. The GOP doesn't support your ideals at all. The thing is the country was founded, amongst other reasons, on the principal that differing viewpoints are good and lead to a strong and enlightened nation. Up until the last couple of decades the parties could find common ground on common sense things and work together to accomplish great things. It's not the case anymore. Remember when people on the right complained the Dems wouldn't reach across the isle to work with the repubs? They are happy when the repubs don't bend but hateful when the dems don't. It's like they have decided to just stop governing at all. In fact, that's exactly what they have done. You will likely support this but the truth is this is detrimental to Americans and the way our country is viewed around the world. Crying like babies while pushing morality based legislation while attempting to propose nothing of substance for the betterment of our country has hurt our nation and our citizens. I will leave it with this. There is nothing I support more than governing on your principles even if I disagree with them. What I do have a problem with, is when your principles start and stop at opposing everything a single man who won an election proposes along with he rest of the party that matches his. It's pathetic. The GOP doesn't support your ideals at all. No offense taken, I'll just point out I don't want government to do nothing I just want them to do less. Many of my gripes are not even in the participation of government but at the level the participation is coming from. The reason Obama has such hard line opposition is by his own admission, his stated goal is to fundamentally transform the country. I take It back I support his drawing down of our presence in the Middle East, until he got us involved again that is. If anything the republicans have gone along with Obama hoping the courts bail them out.

Many of my gripes are not even in the participation of government but at the level the participation is coming from.I think I have commented on this before but it's funny the perception people have on the two parties. The right wingers think their party is bowing to Obama and the left thinks their party is a bunch of pansies cowering to the hard line stance of the evil right.
