University of Oklahoma Fratenity Chant

Quote:Personally, I think we give Guilty people way too much leeway in this country.  What more evidence do you need other than a video of people clearly visible chanting racist remarks?

These dudes are lucky they didn't get this [BAD WORD REMOVED] kicked on the way out of Norman, OK

IMO, they're getting off easy by skipping town.  I realize the former frat members can't be "forced" to stay on campus, but I'd love to see them stick around as independents.   Let them stay, take mandatory sensitivity classes, and face the OU student population on a daily basis. Nothing like a well deserved dose of public shame and humiliation.  As it is now, they will disappear into public obscurity, maybe change their names and most likely complete their degrees online.

Personally, I'm not offended by any word, including the N word.. I hear it constantly from music and movies. I can't stop at a red light and not hear it ooze out from someone's ride.. Whether that's a good thing or not, don't know. But words don't upset me, actions do..

The University kicking these racists off campus for something they said in a private setting was a violation of their freedom of speech. Yes they may have represented a university, but they should have been given a due right to a chance to stay at the University.

Last time I check a racist ,ignorant moron spewing epithets is not a crime.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

If racism was a crime, Al "The False Prophet" Sharpton and Jesse "Race Baiting" Jackson would already be rotting in prison..

I stand corrected. I thought they only booted the fraternity off of campus.

About what percentage of minorties (asian, black, hispanic, etc) represent the Republican party in the house, senate, congress, state?

What percentage of the Republican Party as a whole do those numbers represent? Just because those minirities mostly lean towards the Dems doesn't make it a racist issue just because there isn't more of them in the other party.

Is there a reason why those minorities dont lean towards the Republican Party?

You might want to check your history books to see who some of the more prominent KKK members have been over the years, and what party they called their home.

This post is nothing but pure ignorance.

Ok so blacks during slavery were Republicans until the 60's. LBJ was a Democrat who opposed the civil rights act.

The question still remains, what is the percentage of minorities representing the Republican Party?

Probably for the same reasons I chose the political party I was more akin to, and the same reason you picked your political party. Their core beliefs align more with one particular party over another...I don't think its "race" thing. Are there racist people in the Republican Party? Yes...but there are also racist people in the Democratic party and the Green Party and Libertarian party...etc.

I wouldn't even know where to begin to find that information since you're talking about all elective offices.

What I do know is that if you look at the current crop of candidates that are at least considering a run for the White House, there's no minority bloc of candidates gearing up to run as democrats.  That's not the same on the republican side.  Even a liberal rag like The Daily Beast has recognized this as a problem for democrats.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/20...-real.html

If the concern is about getting more minorities elected to office, democrats should open their eyes and start to recognize that their elected officials are feeding them a line of bull when they try to act as if they're champions for the minorities regardless of color.  The reality is, those elected officials who are trying to maintain their power rely on a growing dependent class in order to retain their positions.  They use fear tactics like the bogeyman taking away their entitlements when there is a proposal to slow the rate of growth (not cut, just slow the rate of growth) for entitlement programs.

Democrats portray themselves as the party of the little guy.  They try to paint republicans as the party of the rich.  The reality is, both parties are all about money and power.  The more of each they can secure, the better.

Blacks, including MLK, were republicans through the 60's.  LBJ wasn't the only democrat to oppose civil rights.  That was a very common thread for democrats in the 60's.  If it wasn't for republicans, Civil Rights would have died in committee as democrats opposed it at every turn.

Why minorities have gravitated to the democrats since the 60's has more to do with the intense use of subsidies and entitlement programs to create a dependency class in America.  The larger they could build that class, the more likely it is they'd be able to assure their own political survival.  Why do you think democrats (actually PROGRESSIVES in both parties) are so willing to support amnesty for millions of illegals?  It's not because they're kind hearted souls who care about illegals.  They simply see that as an opportunity to create a permanent voting bloc that will assure progressives remain in power in perpetuity.  Progressives  need as many people depending on the government as possible.  It is where they derive their power.  It's a real weapon to wield in elections when you can say the evil republican is going to take their entitlements from them.

Progressives use soft racism to maintain their power over the ignorant masses.

You sit here and say 80% of republicans are racist.  Show me proof of this number, or admit you're just manufacturing statistics based on nothing more than your own ignorance.

BTW, none of this has anything to do with the topic.  The frat boys who were involved in this were idiots.  Odds are quite a few of them are democrats considering that during the last national election, 55% of millenials identified themselves as democrats or democrat leaning.  So, more than half of those frat boys were simply perpetuating the storied heritage of racism associated with the party they belong to.

JFC it is the Democratic Party using welfare to enslave minorities and they set it up for that purpose from the start.
