For a 5th or later, I would consider it. We could afford him and wouldn't have to restructure his contract which would be a major incentive as AP would have some say to where he goes. He would act as a bridge for, say Todd Gurley, where Gurley could take a red shirt year to recover. We could release him at any time after that if he doesn't perform and at no cost to the cap.
Quote:He'd garner at best a fifth of sixth round pick from any team based on his age alone. Yes, he's a great player, but for how much longer? He'd have to be willing to rework that contract too. Those numbers just wouldn't fly. Quote:Even on a team with as much cap room as the Jaguars. Quote:I think the Vikings will be able to squeeze a 4th out of him. I love it!! Bernard Pierce, Toby, Binns, Doss and a 5th in a trade for AP. I love it!!! Get it done DC.
If you think I offended you, don't worry, I meant to. #facts
#iamlegend Quote:The real question is...would he be allowed to wear #28?Yes Quote:For a 5th or later, I would consider it. Quote:I love it!! Bernard Pierce, Toby, Binns, Doss and a 5th in a trade for AP. I love it!!! Get it done DC.Yes plz... They can have toby back.
Quote:The real question is...would he be allowed to wear #28? No. There's only one true #28 for the Jags! ![]() GO JAGS!!
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

Why are you all calling Peterson by his often stated hated nickname AP? He has said many times that he wants to be called by his actual nickname "all day" or AD.
Quote:Why are you all calling Peterson by his often stated hated nickname AP? He has said many times that he wants to be called by his actual nickname "all day" or AD. I use AP just bc its an abbreviated version of his name. I often use JT for Julius Thomas, DC for Dave Caldwell, etc.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
I really can't entertain this as I don't see Caldwell approaching "trade draft picks for player mode" yet. Even a player of this caliber is not worth more than a draft pick to Caldwell. He sees them as lottery tickets. I guess if he is giving up a 5th thats cool.
But that contract is horrible lol. Yeah we can pay but that is qb money Peterson is getting. That contract has to get restructured first.
AP has embraced my Jags Madden roster through fantasy for a lot of years.. That said, no thanks. As impact of a player AP COULD be again, he'd be nothing more than an expensive bandaid..
This club needs to go young, via draft.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

That's why I wouldn't be too opposed to bringing him in. He is too cost prohibitive for most teams to bid on him. Reduced competition means reduced cost to obtain him. He is also too old to be looked at as anything more than a bandaid, and would fit perfectly for 2-3 years while Gurley gets healthy, learns the game, and fills in a complimentary role, similar to what MJD did. Murray, on the other hand, would have cost a lot of guaranteed money, which Peterson wouldn't, and could be looked at as more than a bandaid. I would fear that there would be the temptation to pass on someone like Gurley if Murray was on the roster. I don't get that same trepidation if it were to be Peterson on the roster.
A 30-year-old with tons of wear, coming off a one-year suspension? No thanks. Let's take the second or third-round pick Minnesota is looking for and spend it on a young back instead.
So confused by this board...
Hardy was a heck no because he hit a woman... Pierce is cool cause everyone gets DUI Peterson is a No because of Age/Salary/Draft pick…not that fact that he beat his child. Quote:So confused by this board...For the record...I was not opposed to Hardy (though perhaps I should have been based upon what else I've read this week). I am opposed to Peterson, though the child abuse thing did not factor in. I am ambivalent towards the Pierce signing because I don;t think he will be on the final roster anyway, though I am not thrilled about the DUI. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

They can look for it all they want. Nobody will give up a 2nd and it's extremely unlikely anyone would give up a 3rd rounder for him either. The Cowboys and Cardinals don't have the cap space to sign him without having to make significant cuts - especially the Cowboys. The Cowboys signing him would probably mean it would be nearly impossible to sign Dez to a contract next year unless they gutted the roster. Peterson realistically would have to agree to a significant pay cut to play for either of those two teams. There aren't very many other teams that could take on his contract without asking him to take a cut and of those teams there are even fewer that even need a 30 year old running back. If I were the Vikings, I would take a 4th and run. If I were the Jags, I'd offer a 5th and say take it or leave it.
I wanted Hardy despite what happened with him. He's going to pay the price for what he did as well as he should. You commit a crime and if you get busted, you pay the consequences. That doesn't mean he's tainted for the rest of his life as a bad person. We all make mistakes no matter how severe. As long as he learned from his mistake and paid the consequences, he should be allowed to move on with his life, and that includes football...
Quote:Interesting.Umm, the Jags could easily pay out the rest of his contract, yet would NEVER give up a 3rd for a 30 yo RB. You've got it backwards buddy! As long as he learned from his mistake and paid the consequences, he should be allowed to move on with his life, and that includes football... This is pretty much my mindset... Do the crime pay the time and once the punishment has been served…not necessarily give them a "clean slate" but don't always hold it over them. The Hardy//Peterson incidences are pretty much mirror in the overall thing…hitting a woman vs. hitting a child. Yet the argument was issued quick against Hardy…could be said that that is the right argument to make…yet with Peterson its overlooked vs. age/salary/giving up a draft pick. DUIs and Patterns of DUI (Blackmon) and domestic abuse are personally on the same level to me…DUIs kill nearly 10 times as many people as domestic violence. Both are despicable acts but DUI seems to only get a shoulder shrug reaction like its no big deal. Quote:So confused by this board...If AP were three years younger with 900 fewer carries, you'd see me talking about his past as a reason I wouldn't touch him. As it is, he's an old running back with a ton of wear and tear. That alone makes him not worth trading for. I'm not making noise about Pierce's DUI because I believe him to be a short-timer anyway. Generally speaking, though, I'd say I do regard DUI on a lesser plane than domestic violence. Reason being plenty of otherwise good people screw up and drive drunk, whereas it takes a real piece of dookie of a human being to hit a woman or child. Maybe that's a flawed bit of logic on my part; I've never really thought about it at any length before.
We were only mentioned cuz we have no feature back and we're interested in Murray as well as have alot of money. I'm sure Cleveland, raiders would be mentioned if they weren't already
