Would you make this deal?

If I had to guess, I'd say the general consensus on this board would be "no." But I've been wrong before.

I would, but only if the vibe I'm getting about Bud Dupree and the combination of his availability and potential is accurate. If I can drop back a few spots and pick up a First Round pick from a team that is in obvious distress, I think I take that chance.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
I'd probably want their other first round pick for this year over one for next year.
My general feeling is that the Browns would have to give us two first-round picks to move up that far, 12 and 19. We're still getting two first-round picks, but one of them is next year, and we net a third-round pick in the deal as well.
Considering that the heat is definitely on Bradley this year (and possibly Caldwell), I don't know that the team would want to make the deal for anything less than 12 and 19. If it were up to me, I'd take the deal proposed.
The trade would sound very tempting because of the likelihood that the Browns will have a losing record in 2015. Especially since they are in a very difficult Division. If the Browns bottom out, the Jaguars would be in tremendous shape for the 2016 Draft.

Terrible scenario. A third and a future 1st? No way. If there is this much talk about a bunch of teams wanting to trade up for Mariota, Im sure we could get a better deal, and we should.
If I'm giving you a franchise QB, you're gonna pay for it, and more than likely over pay for it. Kind of dreamin here, but I feel like to get a QB who you think is going to head your franchise, I'm gonna need 2 1st this year and another 1st next year, or 3 over the next three years. There's a pretty good chance all of the players I want in the draft will be gone by 12 ( Williams, Fowler, Beasley). If I couldn't get more than a third this year and a first next year, I think I'd rather just pick one of them. At the very least, I'm gonna want two first rounders and an exchange of this years round one picks.
I'd take that all day. Browns 2016 may be 1st overall. I'd also be cool if that was the outcome.
I would take their 12th pick, this years 2nd and next years 1st and 4th.
If they manage to get into the top 5 again in the next years draft we are in great shape. That division is tough and its the browns so I would think they would be picking in the top 10 for sure, its almost a lock with the situation they have going on with Manziel. Who knows maybe they get Cooper instead of Mariota. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I would absolutely do it! Knowing the Browns, their first rounder next year is going to be high. I'd rather have next years than their second 1st rounder this year.
Why can't the Titans take this trade and just leave us with Leonard Williams?
I would not be unhappy with Shane Ray at Pick 12, but I might even lean towards taking Todd Gurley with Pick 12. A 2nd - 3rd Rd pick would be nice and most likely next years draft class will be a little bit better than this one, so the 2016 Rd 1 pick would also be nice.

My only concern with trading back is there seems to be a pretty steep drop in the talent in this draft once you get out of the top few players. Would have to be a great deal.

You're exactly right. Average and decent players will just blend in here. We need difference makers. Only real difference makers can tAke a perennial loser and change everything about that franchise.

I like Fowler too but Williams is the main guy I am hoping for.

My problem with Williams is I get the thought that he would be a depth option, which is not right for a #3 pick. He can't be the LEO, I don't see him and most don't see him as the run stuffing NT type of DT. That leaves the Edge setting end and the pass rushing tackle. We just got Odrick to that big deal and with him being a high quality player, Williams wouldn't start ahead of him and with Marks outside of his injury, he would start ahead of Williams. I know we can't have too much depth, but to me the #3 pick should be an immediate starter, especially on a team with plenty of holes even after a good free agency.
12th overall this year
1st round 2016 3rd round 2015 I would say yes just because next years first is most likely top 10. However, I would be pushing hard for an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder regardless of which year it's in.
I would not do anything that risks missing out on an elite pass rusher. I am not one of the "do anything to acquire more picks" people. You take elite talent when it is in front of you.
