My only concern with trading back is there seems to be a pretty steep drop in the talent in this draft once you get out of the top few players. Would have to be a great deal.

OK draftniks I have a couple of questions.


1st: Is it me or does Leonard William's first step step seem to be slow? On tape vs college players he seems to make up for it or overcome it if you will, but he definitely doesn't look quick to me off the snap. The NFL is so much faster than College having an elite first step or first move is critical to get to the QB.


2nd: Is Fowler just getting mocked to the Jags (over and over and over again) because he played in the sunny state of Florida? I've noticed A LOT of bias on this board for Florida players.


3rd: Why isn't Beasely getting mocked to the Jags very often? The guy has an elite first move which I've already said is extremely important in the NFL- it's the base which you build your counter moves from of which Beasley utilitizes the spin move and the bull rush. The more I see of Beasely the harder it is not to want him to be a jag so why isn't he worth the number 3 pick?

First off, Leonard is dominant and there is nothing wrong with his first step... Second Dante Fowler is the best edge rusher in this draft and him playing at florida has NOTHING to do with him possibly goin to the jags... and lastly Vic beasley is NOT better than fowler, for you and anyone else in thinks he is better is high, watch game film NOT highlights; fowler is always in the back field, making plays or in pursuit. I saw beasly on his back or getting driven backwards on alot of plays. Beasly also had better dline help than fowler. Any game film will show you, best one to watch is both players game films againt Florida State, its clear to see fowler is more dominant.

I would do even further and say there is a big drop after the top 5 (Winston, Williams, Fowler, Beasley, Cooper). I am not that high on Mariota, White or Scherff.

I could...easily...if Caldwell was serious aboout getting Bortles help.

 

The team could trade down and accumulate extra picks, including an extra first (i.e. deal with New Orleans for #13 and 31) and take a RB at 31.

 

The team could trade down, accumulate later picks, then trade up out of the second back into the bottom of the first round and take a RB there.

 

Now they may not take any RB in the first round, but I could see scenarios where they could.

They've said so many times they want to put weapons around BB. Well, they signed a TE and a RT.....but, that doesn't seem to be all they intend to do. I do think one of the many pass rushers makes sense, but I can't shake thinking they may really take one of those big time WR. They're not messing around. They want BB to be good and have options.

Don't forget, they supposedly made a hard push for Randall Cobb, who chose to stay in Green Bay.  They also made a run for DeMarco Murray.

 

I think they are serious about getting him help.  I think part of it is a matter of where they think they can get help for him.

 As much as I love DRob, I saw him drop enough passes that I would like to see an RB that comes out of a system where the running back is the center of the offense in running and receiving.

 

Robinson dropped two passes in 2014 and had 26 receptions. 

 

Not bad at all, actually.  Nonetheless - he'll be part of a committee in all likelihood and Gerhart has an excellent track record of catching out of the backfield.

I could. Let's say Dave trades down with Washington and picks up an extra 2nd. Then he drafts Beasley or Cooper and then packages the two seconds to move back into the first for Gurley or Gordon.
