Corey Wootton | FA

(April 4, 2015 2:31 PM EDT)

Free agent DL Corey Wootton visited with Jacksonville.

Wootton also worked out for Tennessee this week. He played a limed role in 15 games (275 snaps) with the Vikings last year, but can provide depth at multiple spots. Wootton is Rotoworld's No. 4 remaining free-agent end.

Notice since free agency started, we haven't checked out one true pass rusher yet. Only 3 and 5 techniques. (Odrick, Wootton, resigned Alualu) I definitely think we're going pass rusher at #3 if we stay. Beasley would be ideal.

or maybe the front office just thinks its important to beef up the line since both of our starting DTs were injured and no one knows how they will come back yet?

Hardy, Orakpo, McPhee, Morgan, Michael Johnson...McPhee the only one that would have been really great to get.

Yea but Johnson was a bust signing...Hardy was seen as damaged goods although I would have taken him...Orakpo too injury prone..Morgan went back to Tenn...and wasn't McPhee signed really quick?

There's no downside for the Jaguars to check out to see where Corey Wootton stands physically.   Yet, realistically Corey Wootton has seen his better days.  Wootton has dealt with numerous injuries.   At this stage of his career,  he's closer to a fringe roster spot player than someone that a team would want starting.    The Vikings aren't deep at DE but apparently have moved on from Wootten.   If the Jaguars sign him,  it very likely will be at a contract that's at or near the NFL Veteran Minimum.

If they were to sign Wooten, I don't see him making the 53.

That's likely. Basically he would be battling Alualu for the same position.

We just signed the former raiders center Stephen Wiz to a one year deal for 2.5

I forgot all about Barksdale, he's the most surprising unsigned guy now.

Chris Polk | FA

(April 24, 2015 5:05 PM EDT)

Eagles rescinded their RFA tender to RB Chris Polk.

He becomes an unrestricted free agent. With DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews ahead of him, Polk wasn't worth his $1.54 million tender. Polk, 25, is a plodding short-yardage specialist with some special teams skills.

If we don't come away with a RB we like in the draft he could be an option.

Ahhhhh why? He offers no value over what we already have and if we really are looking for a #1 back and don't get one in the draft, how would he even come close to filling those shoes?

If we don't come away with a RB in the draft then we will be using a heavy committee approach this year. He would be another guy to add to the competition. Take him to camp and let the best guys win.
