I'm a huge Leonard Williams fan but in whatever poll asked what I thought the pick would be, I went fowler.


In the end, he was the right choice. He plays with fire and that's what the pass rush needs.

Who was better defensively?  The answer, no one.  Williams was the guy I thought they'd take but he's not going to be able to impact the pass rush.  We already have a Sen'Darrick Marks.

I hate this pick and the only reason why i have hope for his career here is because of Gus and what he done with marginal talent on the defensive side of the ball. Remember he took a bust of a player like Marks and made him into a pro bowler so now i have my fingers cross and hoping for the best.

Based on watching his tape,, he hardly wins with speed or beats anyone to the top of the hoop, and most of his sacks come on twists and blitzes, and a lot of them were standing up or completely unblocked...

Combine that with his agility, explosive numbers at the combine were well below others at the position and that gives me reason for concern as an edge rusher.

I hate to be that guy but I have to agree about his production at Florida. I pray that he can develop into a productive pass rusher for the Jaguars though. The passion and physical attributes are definitely there though.

I'm sorry, I have 3 strikes against my name and as much as I disagree with those reasons (all avoiding the censor filter) I just can't believe the fans. Dante Fowler is the perfect fit for our defense (Leo stand up pass rusher spot) than even Leonard Williams. I think Leonard will be good too and if we picked him I would be a little less excited (because of the perfect fit for our defense) but still happy either way. I just don't get it with some of you, we needed a pass rush more than anyone and Fowler has the best motor I've ever seen AND produces with that motor, and he was playing at an unbelieveably less than stellar Florida the past few years,so how can you be upset with the pick?

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

First of all I think Fowler is a good player probably a very good player.


But I am disappointed with the pick. Fowler may have filled a bigger need but how do you pass on the best player available in the draft???


Fowler had 14.5 sacks in three years at Florida, 3 coming in one game against a small school. So 12 sacks in three years makes him an elite pass rusher??... I don't think so.


Not to mention he lacks upper body strength


But as another poster has noted he is now a Jag and I am going to live with the decision and I hope it was the right one.


Granted he certainly has the passion but show me the production??
