I thought Beasley was the best edge rusher but Fowler is the best pass rusher and player. You can leave him in on early downs and create miss matches. Pure leo Beasley, but you can get creative with Fowler, things you cant do with Beasley

o apparently many many teams had not Leonard Williams, but Dante Fowler as the number 1 player in this year's draft. FWIW, the guys on Bleacher Report LOVE LOVE LOVE him and think he has All-Pro potential and Walter Football actually gave us props on our pick for once, lmao. Maybe the draftnik community on twitter and here are just wrong about him being average. We probably just got a great weapon. IMO he's one step down from Khalil Mack last year. If her were a more technically sound pass rusher he probably would be on equal terms with Mack as a prospect, but he has the same kind of versatility and nastiness Mack had. Also reading College Football Focus, Fowler actually had more PRESSURES than Beasley last year even though he didn't have more sacks. He actually ranked in the top 5 in overall pressure out of all defensive player in CFB last year and was the only defensive end to rank in the top 10 in both pass rushing and run defense. I think we got a good player. I would have preferred Cooper on offense or Beasley just because he's the better pure pass rusher, but lets not act like we didn't get a player here and probably the most versatile and well rounded player in the draft, and he still has room to improve. High floor and high ceiling. 
 
Beasley will probably never be as good an overall defender as Fowler, and while Fowler may never have the sack totals Beasley will have, he can still be a double digit 10-13 type of guy while having much more overall impact on the defense with his play against the run. We won't have to worry about taking him off the field on run plays.
