However, you sponsor an event like the one in Texas, you are baiting irrational people. You are also deliberately putting people in harm's way. Is that really responsible behavior?

The question with things of this nature is, are we supposed to just stop doing things that make people mad? The American people are supposed to be politically correct and eat everyone's [BLEEP], while it's supposed to be perfectly acceptable for people to stomp on our flag, burn our flag, take our people hostage and kill them, not pray in public places, not talk about Christianity in school or public places (while every other religion is free to do so), open fire on groups of people because we offended them, and everything else...We as Americans are supposed to be content with everyone who rebels against our people, but we can't even draw a cartoon of the profit of Islam... What ever happened to welp...that [BLEEP] makes me mad, but it is what it is so I'll suck it up and go on with life? We as Americans are the only ones who are supposed to say "It's their right to do this" but no one else has to do that...We are expected to change and accommodate everyone else's idealisms and let people who hate us do whatever they choose to

I can understand trying to be better than them, but at what cost? When is enough disrespect to us too much? When is it time to tell them to pound sand? The longer we allow that sort of behavior, the harder it's going to be to correct it...If we wait too long, we will become subservient to everyone in our very own country, held hostage by our own weakness of being "too nice" or "too forgiving" or "too accommodating"...At some point in time, we have to say, Lookie here, if we as Americans can't pray in public places, neither can you...If our kids can't take a Bible to school, your kids can't take you religion's book...If you attack us we will attack you back...If we don't do these things, our entire country and everything the forefathers envisioned will be for nothing...We are supposed to allow senseless attacks on us in our own country, and other disrespect such as flag stomping and burning and shrug it off saying "turn the other cheek" ...How long do you suppose it will be before being "too nice/forgiving/accommodating" / et.al becomes our downfall and this nation breaks into chaos?  It's not far from that already...

At some point, you have to look them in the eyes and tell them you wont back down. I don't know how submitting to these radicals can be interpreted as a victory. These are not "irrational" people; these are terrorists that want to kill YOU. This art gallery wont provoke the person you described in your post.

 

While you see this as someone that provokes another's action, I see this as someone that did something that is necessary to remind everyone that we wont have these freedoms taken away... even if they're senseless and sometimes stupid.

At some point, you have to look them in the eyes and tell them you wont back down. I don't know how submitting to these radicals can be interpreted as a victory. These are not "irrational" people; these are terrorists that want to kill YOU. This art gallery wont provoke the person you described in your post.

This contest is not where the battle line must be drawn. The right to freedom of speech is not under serious threat in this country, despite what the self serving fear mongers would have you believe.

 

I disagree, the terrorists are irrational psychopaths, looking for anything upon which to release their rage. It was pure luck they did not succeed in killing anyone, but if they had, it would have been a senseless loss of life.

May be bogus, but the premise is real. The refuse to conform in to our society. Form their own little enclaves in our neighborhoods and practice every tenet of their so called faith. They use our rights as outlined against us by forcing themselves and their faith down our throats as something that everyone should practice.
