2016 Keepers early thoughts

#1

So I won my league last year and I'm tortured on selecting 2 keepers. It's our first year doing a keeper league and obviously I'm going to wait until the preseason to make sure no one's injured but this is my conundrum so far. I can only keep 2 players of the following:

Marshawn Lynch

Demaryius Thomas

Rob Gronkowski

TY Hilton

All four where huge for me last season, I'm leaning towards Gronk and Thomas. My thoughts are without Julius in Denver Peyton is going to target Demaryius even more. And it's damn hard to find a good TE especially one as consistent as Gronk. But that means losing Lynch who was my workhorse and TY is a young talent to let go.

Help me sort this out fellas.

Gronk Definetily

Tough choice between Thomas and Lynch. I think Lynch has one more dominate year in him, but Graham could take away some of his TDs this year. Thomas will Definetily put up numbers and with J Thomas gone he's likely too see more RedZone targets.

If go with Gronk for sure and probably Thomas as well

Yeah I hate letting Lynch go but I think you're right. Hopefully he's there and I can redraft him!

Gronk for sure.

Depending on the draft I'd take Hilton over Thomas

Really Hilton over Thomas why? Are you projecting manning have a down year?

A year from now id be inclined to a agree for sure I'm just not sure if it's this year we see manning slow down.

Manning is slowing down, his arm isnt the same and that denver o-line isnt great. I'm predicting a lot more running this year.

The only thing you have to weigh when it comes to hilton is his opportunity for production. Donte is gonna eat up targets that would have went to Hakeem Nicks if he was better last season, same thing with Andre Johnson's addition over Reggie. That plus the fact that they kinda have a RB in Frank Gore who might be able to take some stress off andrew if he performs similarly to his last couple seasons in San Fran.

I think you can't necessarily go wrong either way, just some things to consider.

I'd probably go Gronk and Thomas, but would definitely wait for the ruling on Tom Brady, depending on if Tom is suspended (as well as how many games he is suspended), that could dramatically effect Gronk's value.

Crap now I have to hope Brady isn't suspended!

I'd let Lynch go.  He's 29 which for running backs is ancient.  I would probably lean Gronk and Thomas as you mentioned.

Gronk and Thomas pretty easily.

I'm having a similar decision to make in one of my leagues.

6 point passings TDs

5 points bonus for 300 yard passing games, 100 yard rushing games, and/or 100 yard receiving games.

With these settings, Luck is an absolute monster. Usually I don't draft a QB until the mid rounds, but it's hard to toss back someone who is so dominant with those settings.

I have to choose 3 between:

Andrew Luck, Jamaal Charles, Demayrius Thomas, Rob Gronkowski.

The above being said, Luck is the reason I didn't win my league. I had, by far, the best team all season. Week 16 was our championship and Luck decided to crap down his leg.

I'd say you're on the "Don't suspended" Brady train with me!

Having trouble deciding between Carlos Hyde and Jimmy Graham.

A rb usually gets more points than a te but I like Graham I just can't decide

My other keepers are

Qb Blake Bortles

Rb Mark Ingram

Wr Brandin Cooks

I can keep 5 but i would like to draft before a couple teams WWJD

What is the rest of your team? Jimmy Graham is the beast keeper on your team, in my opinion.

So what. He is still elite. I'd strongly suggest not keeping Bortles, as you'll be able to draft him later in the draft. I'd keep Graham, Hyde, and Cooks.
