Quote:Would they hire Anthony Grant back? Not sure. There's a new School President, new AD, even a new Board of Visitors since Grant left. And I'm not so sure that he's all that willing to come back.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Quote:Well, he took the Texas job. Shaka Smart has definitely left the VCU program in better shape than when he arrived, but it sucks to see him go.Well, Butler didn't fall off the map when Stevens left, maybe VCU can survive this.
Purdue lands Caleb Swanigan, ranked #9 on ESPN's top 100. Put him at power forward with AJ Hammons at center (with 7'2" Haas backing him up) and Purdue's front court will probably be the best in the Big Ten.

Quote:UNF beat Purdue. That is all. Purdue struggled early in the season before settling on a rotation that worked. They finished 12-6 in the Big Ten after beating IU twice and OSU among others which was good enough for 3rd place and an 8 seed in the NCAA tournament. If UNF and Purdue play again in the fall, it'll be a far different story as well it should be.

Quote:I can only go on results. Not excuses. Rutgers beat Wisconsin and Wisconsin made the National Championship game. Losing a game to UNF doesn't make Purdue bad, so no that is "not all". Purdue went 12-6 in the Big Ten last year and lose only Octeus. I think they should finish in the top 5 in the Big Ten and will be a top 25 team nationally, regardless of who they lost to in 2014/2015. I'll take Purdue over UNF any day. Michigan lost to the New Jersey Institute of Technology last year. I don't think many people consider them a better team than UM except ol' Trav. If Purdue finishes lower than 3rd in the Big Ten and aren't in the top 15 in the rankings at the end of the season and/or lower than a 4 seed in the NCAA tournament, I'll consider it a disappointment.

Oh and Kaminsky didn't play in that Rutgers game.

Quote:When did I ever use the term better? I'll wait."UNF beat Purdue. That is all." Well, that kind of sums it up but I'm not going to sit here and argue this any further. A college basketball game played last December is a rather pointless endeavor. UNF was a good team last year and made the NCAA tournament so losing to them wasn't an embarrassment anyway. I just expect more from Purdue next season.

That being said, I meant to post this yesterday. Mike White is able to hold onto the top recruit in UF's class, KeVaughn Allen. Good to hear.

As a VCU fan, I feel as if I am obliged to reply with "must be nice." We've lost all three of our top recruits and even a starter from last seasons team.

There's going to be some talent in Gainesville along with a couple transfers who will be eligible now. Should be interesting. I'll still be as glued to Florida basketball as ever.
