Mychal Kendricks, Eagles

#1

I really wouldn't mind the Jaguars sending the Eagles a 2016 3rd round pick for Kendricks. Some people may disagree but he has the ability to be the complete package and I feel like he can be the Bobby Wagner of Bradley's defense. I love [BLEEP] and I don't think they end up making this kind of trade. Just speculating and saying I would love it for Kendricks and for the Jaguars.

this has popped up in numerous threads. im sure most fans wouldnt mind it.

i wouldnt mind if we sent a 3rd round pick to a lot of teams for a lot of players.  the eagles would first have to be willing to take a 3rd for him and we would have to be willing to part with it. its out of our hands.

Well, from what I hear the Eagles were looking to deal Kendricks due to having Ryans, Alonso, and Brad Jones already on the roster. Then, they took that inside linebacker out of Texas in the 3rd round. I am not sure a team would be willing to part with a 2nd rounder (the original asking price from the Eagles) but I most certainly wouldn't mind sending a 3rd rounder for him.

I would love it. Could see it happening too.

If they have such a glut of talent in Philly, and he's the guy they're looking to move, odds are they'll wind up releasing him.  Why give up your draft picks if you can simply grab him when he hits the street?  We still have plenty of cap room to assure that there wouldn't be a problem with a bidding war.  I don't see the logic in sacrificing a high to middle round pick for a guy you can get for nothing.

BTW, they were shopping him BEFORE the draft to try to add draft picks presumably so that they could sweeten the pot to trade up to get Mariota  It didn't happen.  I'm going to assume they're not actively shopping him now.  The rumor was they were looking for a 2nd round pick.  If that's the price tag, an even more emphatic "NO" from me.

Considering we'll also most likely be picking in the top half of the draft I can't say Kendricks would be worth the top 50 talent we'll inevitably get from the 2016 draft.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I think its fair to say that Kendricks won't be an Eagle for too much longer. They traded for Kiko Alonzo and then extended Demeco Ryan contract shortly thereafter. Then followed that up by drafting Jordan Hicks in the 3rd round. Kendricks is 3rd at best on the depth chart but most likely 4th since he seems to have fallen out of favor with Chip. The rumors were that the Eagles were asking for a 2nd round pick but teams were balking at the asking price. If Chip wants to get anything of value before cutting him he'll need to lower his asking price. I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him as long as its reasonable.

Do we have any former Oregon or Pac-12 players that Chip would be interested in for a player for player swap?

Kendricks could be had as cheaply as a sixth-round pick if we wait for him to be on Kelly's "trade or cut" list. Might even be able to get him on waivers. Why would you give up an early pick for that?

Considering the Eagles have Mychal Kendricks on their roster,   I don't think Chip Kelly maximized LeSean McCoy's trade value.

Just get him when he's a FA

As they start to lower their asking price, someone will bite. A lot of teams (Falcons, Dolphins, 49ers, Packers, etc.) would all be willing to trade a later round pick I'm sure. I think he is too talented to get released. He can at least make the roster if no one will bite. I believe someone would and I most certainly believe someone would send a 4th rounder for him. A 3rd might be a little steep considering it might be a top of the 3rd rounder but Kendricks is undervalued. He has all the tools. Why he has fallen out of favor with the Eagles is beyond me.

There is no asking price for him.  They dangled him as trade bait before the draft.  They're not shopping him now.

Are you 100% sure of this?

Every report I've seen about the Eagles looking to trade him came out before the draft.  They were trying to get another 2nd round pick so they could bundle that to move up enough to get Mariota.  It didn't happen.

I'm not saying they wouldn't entertain trade offers for him today, but I don't think their price tag is going to drop to the point where he's going to be a reasonable option, especially since he's in a contract year.  Most reports tag him as the odd man out in the Eagles LB corps.  Most teams would recognize this and sit on their draft picks in anticipation that he'll wind up being released at some point. Then I think the Jags would pursue him.  Not before.  Caldwell values his draft picks too much.

No way he'd clear waivers, it wouldn't come down to a bidding war.

So what?  This team has plenty of money to pursue him if they wish to do so.

What do you mean so what?  If he doesn't fall to us after he's cut, we don't get a say so.  He'd probably end up a Buc.

So offer a conditional seven to the Bucs and invite them to take it, leave it, or find a better deal.

Why would they do that and they need LB help too? So does the next team in front of us in waiver priority in the tacks.

The point is if he hits the waiver wire we have no chance at him. Should a 5th or 6th round pick be considered if it's guaranteed you're getting him?
