2015 NBA Playoffs Thread

Quote:My reason for me dropping my opinion of him was due to his whining for calls in the game last night (which I didn't illustrate, but I felt as if I was tagging on to some earlier comments about such), and his propensity for using the Push Off play so much.

I don't like watching the Cleveland Offense because it is single-faceted even though it is effective, and I've stated as much. I guess I needed to be more explicit when I'm discussing two different topics.

david blatt made adjustments to the lineup and the way they run the offense in order to give them the best chance to win.

he isnt out there trying to look cool or to run a variety of plays that the fans will find more entertaining. hes trying to win a championship for cleveland.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Lebron whining for calls is nothing new, he is usually pretty animated anytime he thinks the refs have missed a call, especially if it while he's driving to the basket. That one non-call when Le Bron got raked across the arm, right in front of the ref, at the end of the game was just a horrible non call. How was that not a foul? They even showed it 4 or 5 times and you could clearly see the rake across his arm each time. You could even read LeBron's lips as he said "oh my God". I've long thought he whined too much, especially since he's the best player in the game for several years now. The refs are going to miss calls sometimes, you just have to deal with it.

Yes, Cleveland's offensive is awful to watch, but after losing 2 starting all-stars to injury, what you see with LeBron dominating the ball and isolated on one side is really the only chance they have to win a game or 2 and they still have to hope GS plays poorly, or at least down to the Cavs level. Plus I heard GS say that they don't mind LeBron having a big game, but they don't want anybody else to get into a rhythm and start knocking down shots and helping him out. They feel they can win the series that way.

I wish more people could sit back and enjoy the greatness that Lebron is. Not often a player like him comes along. He's a competitor and a lot of fun to watch (imo).

There are those out there that just hate on LeBron, for whatever their reasons are. He is the best player in the NBA right now and there really isn't a lot of other great players (I mean really great all around players) out there. MVP Steph Curry is a great shooter, but when the shot is off, that's it, as we saw in gm 2.

Anthony Davis is definitely a rising superstar and runner up MVP Harden is capable of some great scoring games, as is Westbrook, but none of them are on LeBron's level of all around greatness.

The fact that he has gone to 5 straight NBA finals (and counting) says a lot about his greatness. I know the east is weak overall, but 5 straight Finals appearances is still awesome, whichever generation it is.

I agree, sit back and watch the greatness that is LeBron James, because it won't be long before it's gone and then who will be the next great all around player to emerge?

Plus off of the court he is a big time role model, and he embraces that. He has never done anything stupid to get in trouble. He's an all around great guy.

Way too funny that yesterdays conversation was about Lebron.   Personally, I found Curry's 5 for 23 shooting night a lot more awful to watch.    He'll get back on track but that performance was terrible !!!

People hate on Kobe and Jordan still too. It comes with the territory when you're one of the greats.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I could understand the hate if the great player they hated kept beating their team in the playoffs and was single handed responsible for their home team not winning an NBA title, like if Utah Jazz fans really hated Jordan because he kept both John Stockton and Karl Malone from winning an NBA title, not once, but twice and one of those times Jordan had the flu.

Lebron is playing in a cupcake era. Anyine who doesnt see that is not a real bball fan.

Those calls last night were horrible. Ive never seen such horrible calls since Seattle decided to throw from the 1 yard line.

I will say the way Matthew Dellavedova is guarding Steph Curry is pretty good, but there are times where I'm amazed the refs dont call it a foul.  I feel like he is just pushing the bounds of a penalty until he gets called, its not a bad strategy.

At this point I feel like the refs have been fairly tight on their whistles, but there was one point in the second half where they started calling it really close....and the Warriors came back.

It might be a cupcake era where there really aren't a lot of really great all around players, but LeBron has been frosting all those cupcakes and he is frosting them with inferior, but gritty ingredients.

I was just thinking the other day, if LeBron James was NOT in the NBA right now, and everything else was the same as it is, which team would represent the East in the finals and how do you think that team would match up with Golden State?

I'm thinking it would be either the Bulls or the Hawks, but neither of those teams have a really great player like LeBron to lead them as the series underdog. Could Rose lead the Bulls to a series win over the Warriors? Could the Hawks beat them in a 7 game series with their injury issues?

Maybe, but he is still one of the games all timers.

Yep, and when LeBron's time is over, who is going to be the next LeBron or really really great, unstoppable all around player?

That player is probably playing middle school basketball.

The NBA better hope so.

I will say this for Lebron, it's amazing that he has gone this long in his career without a major injury.  The guys body has held up really well for a long time.

His hair line is a different story.

Is this comment about the physicality of the game?  If so, I agree.  Imagine Lebron driving down the lane with Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer waiting for him.    That said, I am surprised that GS hasn't tried to take him out of his game via a more physical approach from Iguadala and Green.

I don't think anyone from Golden State can match him physically.  They need to throw a double team at him every time.  Once he starts driving to the lane, get another guy out there.  Let the rest of that sorry team beat you.

If all the Cavs hadn't gotten hurt, I'd be willing to bet the Cavs would be down 2-1 instead of up.....Lebron taking over is the only way they ever had a chance.

Honestly shocked Lee hasn't had significantly more minutes. Thought he was injured, no reason he shouldn't be in the starting lineup. Bogot is a bum

I think tonight's Game 4 is a real big game for both teams. Whichever team wins will have the advantage to go on and win the series.

It is kind of a game of desperation for both teams, even though the Cavs are up 2-1 right now, they don't want to give GS home court advantage back.

It really should be a great game with a lot of playoff intensity on both sides. I am really looking forward to watching it.

The last I checked Vegas had GS favored by 2 1/2 points, with a couple of places going up to 3 points.
