Steve Young - journeyman?

 

Journeyman is someone who journeys through the nfl, usually as a back up, but also getting starts or "shots" throughout his career.

 

Not sure I'd even classify Hasselbeck as a journeyman because he was "the man" in Seattle for so long and even took them to a Superbowl.

Though he did journey south (AFCS) and backup a couple teams.

 

Garcia had time on the west coast, in Tampa, and had some mild success in Philly.

I think he hasn't officially retired, hoping to get a call.

If Joeckel has another rough year, that will be the focal point of the offseason, between FA or the draft. The fact that I believe in Bortles leads me to believe, IMO, this is the most critical issue the team faces. If Joeckel comes thru, I don't think the everyday fan realizes how monumental that is to this franchise!

Gipson, Berry or Wagner would be huge gets.


The rest look like they won't hit FA or will be big character risks. Maybe put Irvin in the worth the risk category, need vs cost/ concern.

Meh, I would. At this point he'd probably be like 31 in his first season here. We're already building the team young and I think we'd pass now at his price tag. We got Wiz who could very well be the future for us, a capable young center in Bowanko, not to mention AJ Cann who many analysts believed plays just as good as a center (if not better) compared to guard.

 

All else fails we'd more than likely just take a swing at a center early in the 2016 draft.

Certainly not the multiple writers that referred to him as a journeyman at the begining of his career. Certainly not the webster dictionary.

 

A player who played for 3 teams and two leagues in his first 5 seasons only to get relagated to a backup for the next 5 years can and has been in actual articles, referred to a journeyman at that stage of his career.

 

And your 1 wikipedia article, that can't even actually contridict that sentiment, isn't going to change it.
