Favorite Comedians

(This post was last modified: 07-14-2015, 01:43 PM by JagsorDie.)

I've been doing a lot of traveling by car lately and my new favorite thing to listen to while driving long distances are stand up comedy stations. There are alot of good ones out there that have damn near made we wreck my car.

Here are a few of my favorites-

Louis CK- is probably my favorite of all time

Mitch Headburg is a classic that i've found funny since i was younger

Tom Segura- ive just started listening to alot and find him hilarious

Aziz Ansari is funny but can get annoying to listen to because of how much he yells.

Chelsea Peretii- i recently discovered her and she is pretty funny for a semi dark humor comedian.

Kevin Hart- i like how he always seems  to make fun of himself.

lots more out there, but these are the ones that pop into mind first.

Edit: how can i forget Jim gaffagan... that dude kills me... "Hot Pocket"

I am a big stand up comedy fan. Louis CK is terrific. I really liked what Chris Rock did in the late 90's to mid 2000's. Bigger and Blacker is probably my favorite comedy special that anyone has done.

I also like to listen to old Bill Hicks and George Carlin. Very cutting edge for their time.

I saw Mitch Hedberg live once. He was so out of his mind that you could not understand half of what he was saying.

Used to love Kevin Hart and Daniel Tosh before they got big. There material doesn't seem as funny to me now. Maybe because they've got lazy or rely too much on their shtick? Something just seems different.

Demitri Martin

Eddie Izzard

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I really enjoyed John Pennette before he ate himself to death.

He is great in his stand up... not sure how much i liked his show though... probably could have done without that.

Saw Kevin Hart around 6 years ago, he was hilarious. Haven't seen much if his stuff recently though. Right now:

Jim Gaffigan, Paul F. Tompkins, Demetri Martin. There's one or two more that I'm forgetting as well.

In my opinion, Richard Pryor was the funniest man to ever pick up a microphone.

I have the same views as rollerjag when it comes to Comedians. At least on the dead side. I enjoyed wacthing George Carlin growing up. I've went back and seen a lot of Richard Pryor and Bill Hick's work. Both guys were hilarious. Especially Hicks. When I look back at his work from the 80's and early 90's it's funny because a lot of his viewpoints then on the world are relatively close to how I feel about today's world at my own age of twenty-seven. Carlin as well. It's hard to dislike those guys. I'll add Robin Williams into this discussion as well. He had two really good stand-ups that I enjoyed as a kid.

As far as living comedians. It's hard for me to say. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough. Dane Cook was funny maybe when I was in Highschool. Just can't get into him anymore. I enjoy Daniel Tosh's stand up. He's pretty edgy. I liked Pablo Francisco for awhile. He got too repetitive. Lewis Black is awesome. Love his views and deliveries. Another guy I like but hasn't done stand-up in awhile is John Leguzziamo. He's a good story teller. He's full of energy. And he does a good job of making fun of himself. Louis C.K is hilarious.

I saw Kevin James at the Florida Theatre. I was skeptical going in...I went because my wife loves King of Queens.

But he was hilarious.

someone compared dane cook to louis CK and since then i've never been able to here him without thinking he kind of stole lewis's shtick... kinda like how carlos mencia mimics alot of george lopez, neither one of which i like.
