Cecil Shorts praises Blake Bortles

#21

Quote:He'll have a "hammie" before long. Over/under in how many regular season games he plays in. I'll put the number at 7.

That being said, it's cool that he has that much respect for Blake.

The least games Shorts has played in a season is 10, counting his rookie year. Discount the rookie year, where he was pretty much special teams, and it's 13.

Just sayin'.

All true, Jerrad, BritishJag. What I was targeting is a list showing where Cecil would rank in the WR corps, if he were currently a Jag. Like:

1) Robinson

2) Hurns

3) Shorts

4) Lee

5) Greene...

I just don't know. Pedigree, experience and numbers thus far may indicate Shorts>Hurns, for example. But what about ceilings n such, and availability? As a team, would you let a 'superior' player walk because he missed some games due to injury? Especially an inexpensive one.

A healthy Shorts would be #2 on my list, I think he's got better hands than Hurns.

Got ya. Not as physical though, and fearless to go across the middle. How about Shorts vs. a healthy, productive Lee?

Just rings strange to me for a team that's looked for receivers the past decade to dish out a starter, who's possibly better than what's in house, to a rival.

I think Jags know what he brings to the table; steady vet. The unknown/potential of the young 3 made him expendable. Also, based on pure #s, though very different circumstances, in their first year, Hurns >>>Shorts. Let's see how year 2 looks for him, which is when CS came to prominence.

Quote:Cecil looked good on that TD catch and run he had in the tinhorn's first preseason game.

I am just shocked that he isn't injured in some form or fashion by now.
The injury bug won't bite until right before the season starts.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
