Sharks Heading to Arena Bowl

#1

Our Jacksonville Sharks will be playing for another AFL title. So we got that going for us.

Considering how poorly they started the season, that's a pretty impressive feat.  Speaks volumes about getting hot at the right time.

Fun game to watch Saturday.

I feel like the Sharks and the AFL really screwed themselves by taking, at the very least, their home games off of local tv.  Now everything is on ESPN3 and I just haven't caught the bug to watch sporting events online.

I know Philadelphia shows their games on local TV so that must be a Sharks decision.

It's something. It makes no sense though imo. The Armada have had 80% or so of their games on local TV. If they can, I don't see why the Sharks haven't.

The Arena League is hurting. Several teams have folded recently, another jumped ship to the IFL. They are down to 9, maybe it's 8 teams in the entire league. They need to do something quick to save it I think.

I agree. It seems to do well in Florida, Philadelphia and Arizona. But nowhere else. The other teams just go from city to city. The guy from Motley Crue put a team Vegas and it was doing so bad financially the league took ownership away just a few months later.

I don't think I realized there are that few teams in the AFL.  Kind of makes winning a championship not as impressive.

Also shows why they played Philly 4 times this year.

Edit:  I just looked, there are now 12.

Arizona

Las Vegas

LA

San Jose

Spokane

Portland

Orlando

Jacksonville

Tampa

Philadelphia

Cleveland

New Orleans

NO and Vegas folded, and one of those jumped to the IFL, can't remember which city off the top of my head. There were 12 this year, and the Vegas team actually made the playoffs and still folded just before the start.
