Jaguars cuts
|
Quote:No, I said he wouldn't be cut in the initially. Once other teams solidify their rosters I could see them cutting him to put on the PS.I don't see that happening either. Someone unexpectedly talented and healthy who is a scheme fit would have to become available via trade or release for Marshall to be cut after the 53 is set as of 4 pm, IMO. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Rewatching the game on NFL Network right now, McCray looks like hes not even trying IMO.
No surprises so far.
Time to convert Sterling into a move TE.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023.
I might slow down on that one. He moved a lot better than u would expect for his size and his hands are really good. I think he can survive outside

But closer than some would have ever imagined. Perception always follows reality. And some are in for a reality check.

Neither Joeckel nor Cyprien have played anywhere close to their draft positions. Sanders and Harris are already gone. Gratz and Evans are just journeymen. If McCray is really on the bubble then all that's good from the 2013 draft is Denard Robinson.

If both Joekel and Cyp can be average, we'll have had a better 2013 class than most other teams IMO.

The Jags aren't alone in not having much to show for the draft that year so it's more of an indication of the lack of talent than it is Caldwell's ability to draft well.

To look at another AFC South team:
Houston only has 3 players left from the 9 they drafted in 2013. They no longer have 2nd round pick DJ Swearinger (cut, joined Tampa), 3rd round picks Brennan Williams (cut, was on the Jags this offseason) and Sam Montgomery (cut, free agent), 4th round pick Trevardo Williams (cut, free agent) and 6th round picks Alan Bonner (cut, free agent) and Chris Jones (cut, on the Patriots roster). The only players they have left are DeAndre Hopkins who is looking like a good (but not elite) WR, David Quessenberry who sadly has Lymphoma and have been placed on the NFI list and Tight End Ryan Griffin who is just depth. Edit: Looks like Queensberry's cancer is in remission which is good news ![]() Quote:2013 was a historically bad draft, just take a look at the first round. Which is why some of us disagreed with the Monroe trade, and the usual lemmings spewed the rhetoric, but in hindsight the obvious came to fruition.

Looks like we are waiting until the end of the deadline to make our final cuts. Do you guys think were gauging the trade market on a few few guys?

There's no reason to cut that whole group yesterday while waiting this long to decide on 4 more guys unless you're looking at some other scenarios. IMO that is.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

They could also be using the time to negotiate injury settlements with some players (Loston and Branch come to mind). "the Patriots are calling teams, shopping around for a big-bodied receiver."
Maybe they'll go after Sterling... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:That's obvious and I'm 99% sure he'll land on the Jags PS. Sorry, I got whooshed. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
