Right now our overall strength of schedule is weaker, so we'd be picking #1.

Are you counting future opponents?

Quote:Stupid penalties just like us

If the Bucs would have ended up losing this game,  the stupid penalties they took would have probably been the # 1 focal point by the media that covers the Bucs.   It's one thing to make a penalty by being aggressive.   It's another to basically give away 30 yards on two boneheaded plays like the Bucs did.

Quote:Ours was the third Tennessee allowed. This is the second straight game Miami allowed a safety. So I would say yeah, there are more safeties than usual.

It almost happened again at the other end in the second half. Why try to run out of the end zone?

I believe you are thinking of the Safety that the Bengals allowed against the Dolphins when Cameron Wake sacked Andy Dalton in the end zone to win the game for Miami in OT.

In the case of what occurred with the Dolphins this evening,  their Offensive Line was so unreliable that there was significant risk whether they ran the ball out of the end zone or attempted to throw the ball.   If Gerald McCoy goes back to the Pro Bowl,   this game will be a major reason why.

I heard Jon Gruden talk about Miami's offensive line being terrible. We all know why the left side is bad but Mike Pouncey was the guy who whiffed (why was he still playing?) and he has always started at center this year.

When there are so many changes on an Offensive Line,  that could lead to miscommunication and over compensation.    Hence leading to mental mistakes.

Believe me,  the last thing the Dolphins need is Mike Pouncey,  the glue of their Offensive Line,  on the bench.    W/o Pouncey,  the Dolphins would struggle to win another game this season.   Especiallywhen factoring all of their other problems on the Offensive Line.

BTW,  this was the lowest team rushing total for the Dolphins in a game in their history.

Tampa's going to win a few more games, they're not as bad as their record. They have talent I think their problem has been coaching.

Agreed.  They looked pretty good last night.

I forgot about all the guys they had on defense, man Bowers, Clayborn, McCoy, Barron, Goldson, Revis wow, how do you screw up and go 0-8 with that much talent on a roster?

I'm assuming their problems have been QB centered?

Glennon might be their answer at some point.  It's coaching.  They don't want to play for Shiano.

They have been a lot better since Glennon took over and he seems to be improving slowly every week.

Gotta wonder if he's still their QB if a new GM and HC are brought in.

When I asked why Pouncey was still in the game, I was thinking of his stupid penalty that any smart referee would kick him out for.

I am surprised he is playing well as a center. During his last year at Florida, I thought he was going to be a guard his entire NFL career.

Two words say it all: Greg Schiano. Fire him and the team improves overnight.

Before commenting on what you commented on,  it took a System Restore to an earlier date to correct the problem I mentioned in another thread about the Quote function not working on my computer.

Unless Mike Pouncey made contact with one of the officials,  which I didn't notice,   it didn't look like Pouncey warranted an ejection.  The penalty he received might have been the difference in the game,  along with many other individual play results.   For the first 27 minutes or so in this game,  it was the Dolphins that looked like an 0-8 team,  not the Bucs.

Mike Pouncey probably has the ability to be a Pro Bowl Center or Guard.   He might even be able to hold his own at RT,  if called upon.    While Pouncey's legal situation involving the Aaron Hernandez case ( s ) bears watching,   otherwise Pouncey looks like a long term key building block for the Dolphins.   There aren't many other players on the Dolphins Offense that look like anything close to a long term building block.

Brenden Ayanbedejo was ejected for doing almost exactly the same thing to Guy Whimper.

I'm going to try to look at the play from last night again sometime this week.  When I saw the play, a potential ejection never came to mind.  Sometimes it takes going back to review a play to catch something that was previously missed.

In general though,  we have seen that one officiating crew often makes officiating decisions that are vastly different compared to another officiating crew. Some crews let the players play unless something is so overt that they feel it's essential to throw a flag.

One thing I strongly believe is that if Mike Pouncey would have been ejected early in the game,  the Dolphins never would have comeback from 15-0 to take the lead.

I don't know if it happened during or after a play. Mike Tirico joked about it by blaming Richie Incognito lol.
