Quote:I get ya. He was nervous early for sure, rushing all his throws. Can't blame him if he doesn't trust the line. They warrant that. Aren't we on pace for am 80 sack year? Hey, that's more than last year. #Progress

Seriously, get better lads. We are behind you, always.

I thought the line actually played decent in the first half; the wheels came off in the second when Young was forced into the action. Also Blake ran into a sack or two because he was trying to make a play with his legs. I'm going to assume this was due to no one being open downfield rather than him hearing footsteps, but aside from Young I thought the line gave him enough time to make something happen.

They graded well for the most part. Bortles had a decent amount of time when Joeckel was in there too.

Quote:Cautious, interesting term. Seems like a slight jab at his OC. As in cautious play calling. The O on the field seemed more jittery than cautious.

That's how I read that as well.  They were play calling scared to avoid further mistakes, and never tried to be aggressive.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

We will see Gus doing this a lot this year trying to save his job.

Joeckel looked fine before the injury, but try to get others here to recognize that fact.  Not gonna happen.

Just as soon as he's the guy calling plays on offense.

Which isn't excusable considering this was the guy he was supposed to be on the same page with. It's his 2nd Offensive Coordinator for crying out loud.

That's not the point. When you fire a guys because he isn't on the same page as you, and 1 week in you don't agree with the new guy's playcalling, that's a head coach problem. He's either hiring the wrong people, or not conveying what he wants to the coordinator. Gus' fault either way.

Things happen during a game.  If the play calling tightens up, that's not a matter of a head coach and his coordinator being on different pages.  There was a game plan that they clearly prepared during the week leading up to the game.  For whatever reason, Olson went off script.

We get it.  You need to blame Gus.  Have fun with that.

It's Olson's first game as the OC for this staff.  It didn't go well.  It's still just ONE game.  If we're still having this conversation in week 12, then there's a problem.

I'm not content with 0-1.  I'm just not a member of the knee jerk pitchfork and torch crowd who wants people fired in week 1.

7 and 26 is not knee jerk.... at all. Getting a new OC doesn't mean Bradley gets to pressure the reset button. This is a team that was created in his vision (and Caldwell's obviously). This is year 3, this thing should be moderately competitive on both sides of the ball. One side is fixed, the other isn't. Shockingly the fixed side is the one that is less dependent on draft picks, and had more money spent on it in FA.

Bradley is the type of guy everyone wants as their uncle. Everybody likes their uncle because they're fun and they generally don't scold you too often. That describes Bradley perfectly.

There's being a players' coach, and then there's trying to be everybody's friend. Absolutely no accountability.

Can we nickname him Uncle Gus from now on?

And you know there's no accountability because you're in the locker room and the meeting rooms witnessing this first hand?  Or, are you basing this solely on how he responds to questions in a presser?  I'm sure it's unheard of for a coach to say as little as possible in press conferences because he's not going to throw players or coaches under the bus in front of a camera, right?

Hiring a new OC, QB  coach, and OL coach is EXACTLY what you call pressing the reset button.
