The top half, yes.

The bottom half, idc.

Quote:MSU barely beat them, at home. Utah smashed Oregon, in Eugene.

Well Utah barely beat Michigan at home and barely beat Utah St. at home. I think Utah is a top 10 team, but I don't think Utah is better than Ohio St.

It took UCLA 56 minutes to take a lead on BYU at home and barely won..... 24-23. Michigan beat BYU 31-0 and held them to 105 total yards.

Pac 12                  Big 12

Cal                      Michigan St

Stanford             Ohio St

UCLA                  Indiana

Utah                   Iowa

USC                   Northwestern

Arizona              Penn St.

Pac 12 hands down.

Northwestern beat Stanford. UCLA barely beat BYU at home.....a BYU team that Michigan beat 31-0 and held to 105 yards. If Michigan isn't a top 6 Big Ten team, then what does that say about UCLA?

They did, and that is a big point in the argument. From the 2nd half of their second game on Stanford has been a different team. Not sure what has changed.

And Michigan is a top 6 team, I just went with the first 3-1 team on the conference standings. They have several. Same with the Pac 12.

And don't forget, you said top 6 as a whole, the Pac 12's top 6 is stronger.

What's your thoughts on the 2nd best Pac-12 team being taken to the wire by a team Michigan held to 105 total yards?

Big Ten:

#1

#2

#16

#19

#22

Pac 12:

#7

#10

#17

#18

#24

IMO:

Ohio St. > Utah

Michigan St. > UCLA

Northwestern >/= Stanford

Michigan = USC

Wisconsin = Cal

I'll give Arizona and Oregon the nod over Iowa for the next spot, but it's looking like Oregon and Arizona were both laughably overranked to begin the season.

It's important to keep this these games in mind:

Michigan 17 @ Utah 24

BYU 23 @ UCLA 24 (UCLA's first lead came with 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter)

BYU 0 @ Michigan 31

If you buy Utah and UCLA being top-tier teams, then Michigan deserves more credit than you give them.

It was very impressive. I have said all along that Harbaugh will do big things at Michigan.

I haven't taken anything away from Michigan. based on Record Michigan is tied for. Based on records alone There are five tied for first and then 3 or 4 tied at 3-1 with UM being one of them.

Bottom line is I would take Pac 12's top 6 over Big 10's.

Well I'm not basing "top 6" based on records alone. Just because Indiana plays trash teams doesn't make them a top 6 team in the conference.

Right, but others are saying that the Pac 12 > the Big Ten because the Big Ten is just OSU and MSU. If people think that Northwestern and Michigan suck, then that makes Utah, UCLA, and Stanford look worse too.

Bottom line is I would take the Big Ten's top 6 over the Pac 12's.

Teams can lose a certain game and still not come out looking worse once the season is said and done. Ohio State's team last year is a perfect example of that. Just like in fighting, styles make fights. You will have teams who don't match up as well with others. Pointing to scores alone is a terrible way to solve this.

Not to be snide, but I don't think "this" can be solved.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Poor choice of word with "this". Using that to compare who might be better overall isn't the best angle to take.

So you're allowed to use "Michigan St. barely beat Oregon, Utah smashed Oregon"  but I'm not allowed to say "UCLA barely beat BYU, Michigan smashed BYU"?

Oh, I was focusing more on the concept that the question of "Who is better?" cannot be answered. There's just no way to come up with an absolute truth to it.
