No That's my point not only did Blaine stink terrible but his team stunk too, and yet our #3 pick QB numbers aren't significantly better than Blaine's with better talent.However everyone has this amazing confidence in him to be a Franchise QB.

I dont think you know what you are talking about here son. Blaine had a good oline, one of the best RBs, at that point one of the better LT, a true #1 WR and Shorts wasnt that bad

Leftwich was a good deep passer much like Bortles although he had considerable talent around him and a nice pass blocking OL which he required. Ultimately the game tape got the best of Byron as his long release and deliberate movements made him easy prey for pass rushers. Blaine is a lot like Byron only with decent agility and the ability to use his feet.

If I remember right Blaine Gabbert used to throw several short passes, tons of screen passes where it seems like Bortles is always looking mid to deep and only throws short out of necessity (which I like), but i the 2nd half it seems as if he reverts back into a more conservative short passing game approach.  If only Olson would keep pushing Blake to throw more down the field to Hurns & Lee.

The above 4 month grade of the Jaguars Depth Chart shows them grading QB Blake Bortles as poor, but suggests he has below average to average talent surrouding him with the only good player as TE Thomas (injured all season long) and one step below elite RG Linder (injured Cann starting in his place this week)

 

I wonder would the so called average Allen Robinson WR (as they rated) be higher with a better veteran QB?

If you're a great talent your game will show regardless who's the QB and not for a second i think blake is holding the offense back and not letting the wr to succeed, If that's the case then explain allen hurns because he's doing pretty well because blake is the qb.

I really see Bortles pulling a Jekyll And Hyde throughout the whole season honestly

BonJagley mentioned that it's not uncommon for young QBs to be up and down.


And I agree with you, I can see him having ups and downs this season. As long as his off games are less ugly each time and never as bad as week one, then we're seeing true progress. I still have a high amount of confidence that by the end of this year, we're going to see huge gains by Blake, and in turn by the offense.


Of Blake can bring a game just slightly better than he performed against Miami, I think we beat the clots.


Heck, if Blake begins to really begin to progress, he may save Bradley's job.


I hope I'm not putting too much on Sunday's game, but I really think this game is a turning point for this team.

How can anyone pick him in question #2? If I'm making my own team to win the superbowl my two QBs would be Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Even if I wanted to be really careful and have an extra backup in case of injury it wouldn't be Bortles.

This was my thinking I would obviously pick Aaron Rodgers for my team no question.
