New Head Coach
|
Actually, the guy I would hire is currently working for cbs. The former HC for the steelers, Bill Cowhert (sp?) would be my target. Yup... Khan would really have to open up those billionaire pockets and put some money toward something (or more correctly... someone) who could get this sinking ship up righted and back on track; and make no mistake, it would require b i g m o n e y to get Cowhert to coach here. I don't see anyone on that list that I think would help here. We need someone with NFL experience as a HC with a winning record as part of his resume. Those don't grow on trees. We don't need another rookie NFL HC... that experiment has provided conclusive results.
Speaking of which, Greg Olsen has had a losing history... why did Gus bring him here and expect different results? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Not big on the college coach thing.I'd trade Gus for anything. The "college thing" doesn't bother me. Maybe Keenan McCardell could coach us. He's the wide receivers coach for the Maryland Terrapins... Couldn't be worse than Gus. I jest, but at least he wouldn't think that we "contained" a TE when he goes for over 100yards, and At least he would understand double coverage and offensive scheme.
When does the Owner get the chance to FIRE the FANBASE?
Maybe Shad should move this team to anywhere other than the CITY of CRYBABIES! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! That is the sound of JagNation and they are PATHETIC as a Fanbase!
Quote:When does the Owner get the chance to FIRE the FANBASE?Of course... you are correct; how dare the fanbase express discontentment with year after year of losing football. Of being led to believe that real improvement has been realized and only awaits the opportunity to display itself on the field... only to see that the only thing being displayed on the field is incompetence. Given what the Jags bring to the table, the dolts were wise to sit out luck as even a backup quarterback is too much for our team to handle apparently. But I wonder, where would Khan move this team (if he could) who would welcome such a sorry display of gridiron antics? You see, most of us who call ourselves fans of football are Americans. If there is one thing Americans can't stand, it's losing. Oh; no one has unrealistic expectations of never losing a game. But the Jaguars have been and continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL, and by extension, it's fans too. But I understand your point; blind devotion has it's place I suppose... the franchise people who sell tickets count on it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Sean Payton.
He has a proven track record and needs a fresh start.

Hell, give me Norv Turner at this point. I don't care as long as he's an offensive coach.

I would want someone with some previous head coaching experience.

Not usually my style but if we're looking again after this season, it's time this franchise hires someone with winning history as an NFL head coach. Enough experimenting. Giving guys their first shot. Or a second shot after the first was a failure. Previous winning history doesn't guarantee they'll do it again, but we need someone with a reputation and track record.

At least not compared to previous years or 3 runs straight into the line and punt. I am intrigued by Mike Smith, but am also intrigued on what Marrone's candid thoughts would be on if this turd is actually flush-able or if we need to call a plumber.
