How is this even a debate? When you give up a second-round pick to move into the top ten for a QB and that QB stinks up the joint when he's actually on the field, there's no question about who your biggest bust is.

Gabberts just trying to please everyone.

Gabbert and its not even close. If you miss on a high pick at QB, it can't get worse.

Sure it can not only did we miss on a high pick QB we traded up to get him!

Sure it can. The Jaguars can release him and he goes on to have a great career at a team with some talent on the roster.

Tyson Alualu.

While Gabbert cost the team more, and missing on the QB is a career killer, and Gabbert is probably worse than Tyson at this point -- at the very least, people were predicting Gabbert to be picked early.  It wasn't nearly the headscratcher than the Alualu pick was. Sometimes you miss on the QB.  And it really sucks when it's in the first round.  But it could happen to any team.

Only Gene Smith would pick Alualu in the Top 10.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Eben Britton, D'Anthony Smith  (at least we got a late rounder for him) and Brandon Marshall are all up there pretty high in my book of busts.  Britton not panning out is a big reason our O-line sucks so bad this year.  We could have taken a pass rusher in the 1st round this year if he had just been a little better than Cam Bradfield.

It's beginning to look like Andre Branch will make the list too.

Gabbert will most likely top the list, but I'll be incredibly patient and wait a few more weeks before making it official.

HA !!!   I HEARD THAT ON THE RADIO AND ABOUT FELL OFF MY CHAIR !!!  It's like we're running a pop warner football league here talking to/about 8 year old kids (trying to boost their ego for confidence).

Right now if Leftwich were here I'd thank him for not subjecting us to this crap !!!   I must admit he was tough at least.

THIS!!!   Gene Smith couldn't find a player in the Hall of Fame!

I hope he ends up working at WalMart or Target, guy doesn't belong in the NFL.

Probaly Gabbert....but Branch is another horrible pick!

For those wishing that Gene Smith is working a minimum wage job, hopefully you realize that he will probably never have to work another day in his life unless he just wants to.

As for his biggest bust, you gotta go with Gabbert, so far. I still hold out a sliver of hope for him, but the reality is that you have  to hit on a QB with a top ten pick.

I dont see how anyone could pick anyone other than Gabbert. 10th pick, worst starter in the league at his position, traded up for him.

I think we should start him for 5 more years just to be safe...

Although Gabbert is the biggest bust of Gene Smith, I dont think it was a bad move to draft him. I dont mind taking a chance on possible franchise QBs.

Sometimes you're wrong. I'm not saying he will go on to be great somewhere else. I'm just saying it'd be the worst possibility since the only thing worse than drafting a bust is drafting an elite player and failing to properly evaluate or develop them and cutting them thinking they're a bust only to be shown as wrong when they succeed elsewhere.

It's a tie in my mind:

1a.  Gabbert ...Jags gave up a 16th (1st) and 49th (2nd) to take Blaine with the 10th pick. He's been a backup caliber thus far.

1b.  Alualu ...a huge reach, taken with the 10th pick when most believe he could have been taken in late 1st or early 2nd.

gabbert is the definition of a bust, swing and a miss, and reach all in one.

then goes anger, the 'weapon'.
