Positives Thread

Quote:That happens to every QB. They miss guys open sometimes. Easy to sit on our couch and see these open receivers without 300 pound lineman charging at us.

I'm not hating on the guy. I'm impressed with his progress. But pinning it all on the RB is BS. I can use your quote to defend Gerhart too - "easy to sit on our couch and criticize Gerhart for losing a 1 on 1 battle to a 280 pounder who's charging right at him."

I want Gus fired as much as the next guy now (he seems like a good guy but this isn't working and we need a coach that can make guys win). So let's keep any talk of Gus and firing out of this thread. I want to look at some players we have that will hopefully with the right coaches be the guys that lead us to those wins.

Bortles is playing well this year, he's proving to be learning from his mistakes and getting better. He's 10/4 it TD/INT compared to 11/17 last year, that's a huge improvement.  He's on pace for 32/9 INT/TD with 4160 yards passing.

Allen Hurns is on fire this year, 430 yards from 5 games. He's on pace for 1376 yards. That's huge for any WR.

Allen Robinson likewise, he was 402 yards from 5 games, he's on pace for breaking the 1k mark too with 1280 yards .

Thomas looks like he'll create mismatches for the other WRs and has great hands, the quicker we get Lewis from running routes the better.

Quote:Yep, he was good. I really liked the pick he forced and allowed them to get a TD up on us, that was great. You had Robinson wide open in the MIDDLE of the field with his hand in the air, and somehow Bortles doesn't see that. He stares down receivers too much, and that's something you have to stop doing.

Aside from that, he came back and showed confidence. He got us 4 TD drives total, but too bad our defense was TRASH (that's an insult to trash) and Grant decided to make us a joke again.
Bortles also missed a wide open JT that would have been a TD, but he was busy forcing an incompletion to Mercedes... I could nit-pick his game further, but he's not the problem.

The #1 problem is Gus Bradley. Ineptitude comes from his mouth, his pores, his inaction, and his inability to understand the game. He spews ineptitude all over the field as if he was possessed by a demon.

Bradley needs to go!

Bortles played 'ok'. The WR's were the only highlight in the game. Even Thomas was getting open. Bortles even though he is showing some promise, still looked ok today. But border line bad.

We are the best at losing in the league.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

The positive will be when Gus Bradley adds "former Jagwire coach" to his resume

We could have our first 1000 yard receiver in 10 years, knock on wood.

Bortles just needs 13 more touchdowns in 11 games to match Garrard's single season TD record.

Julius Thomas is back.

Next year we'll have (knock on wood) two first round draft picks playing with Fowler and whoever we draft next year.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I'm positive that starting a thread like this on a Jags Sunday like this won't end well for those looking for positives.

Shh, you're not allowed to actually talk about anything. You have to rage and type in all caps about EVERYONE. Who even is EVERYONE anyway? Fire the cook? Fire Shad?
