Positives Thread

Quote:I'm positive that starting a thread like this on a Jags Sunday like this won't end well for those looking for positives.Or people who don't want to chat about Bortles/ARob/Hurns can ignore the thread, it's not hard... Some people have to type in every thread, like they have nothing better to do. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:I'm not hating on the guy. I'm impressed with his progress. But pinning it all on the RB is [BAD WORD REMOVED]. I can use your quote to defend Gerhart too - "easy to sit on our couch and criticize Gerhart for losing a 1 on 1 battle to a 280 pounder who's charging right at him." Not really since Gerhart's assignment is to block in that situation. His job is to pick up the pressure. Blake can't do what's he's supposed to if Gerhart isn't doing what he is assigned to do. Who knows? An extra second or two and he makes the throw to ARob.

Bortles, Robinson, Hurns, Walters (few plays he makes he's always open and doesn't drop anything), Yeldon when the offensive line allows him not to get killed even before the LOS.
Other than that it was all bad today...

I'm not swayed by that argument. Bortles' job is to find the open man and deliver the ball. He missed a guy who was wide open the moment he finished his drop back The ball should have been out THEN, when he had a pretty clean pocket. Not half a second later when a defender is in his face. I won't derail this thread into a debate over a single play when I'm happy with how he played, but I can't just fall silent after that response.

I don't think I've seen him drop anything and he gets open enough to justify a spot on the roster.
thanks for the positive thread. offense is coming together with a lot of very young talent. skill positions are the best we have had in more than a decade. running back leaves something to be desired but the qb and wr's make up that difference. defense needs work which is disappointing considering a defensive minded coach. but it has young talent. smith particularly

Quote:Bortles also missed a wide open JT that would have been a TD, but he was busy forcing an incompletion to Mercedes... I could nit-pick his game further, but he's not the problem.I think that's the thing with qb play acroos the schedule every Sunday. You could insert any name after a pick, on who was open. As for Bradley, he needs to get the slip before the trip home.
Quote:Walters should never have been on the PS in the first place. I don't think I've seen him drop anything and he gets open enough to justify a spot on the roster. I agree, he's the most underrated player on the team, whenever you look at him he's wide open and even when he is not he makes crucial catches. In hindsight he should have had more playing time than Greene (when he was available). Quote:I'm not swayed by that argument. Bortles' job is to find the open man and deliver the ball. If Marcedes is supposed to be the primary receiver for the given play and Bortles doesn't have the time to go to another read then that's on blocking.
Bortles has NOTHING to be ashamed of. He played well. Over 300 yds, 4 TDs? Bortles is the real deal.

He is our QB for many years. Only 23 years old.
All this with a bad OLine. 6 sacks again today.
- Bortles
- Yeldon - Walters - AR15 and Hurns - Julius is back - At least we are not the Texans We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Positives: This team will look head and shoulders better next year under a new HC because a lot of raw talent is there.
Quote:- BortlesWe have one week until this can't work.
Defensively? Telvin Smith, Abry Jones... saw some good plays from Colvin and House. Not much else to say. It's a bad unit overall.
Offensively, I like what I see from Bortles, Yeldon, Robinson, and Hurns. Thomas looked ok in limited action. Special teams was bad.
