Quote:I love this Payton talk. You do understand that he's probably not leaving New Orleans, right? It's okay to let your fantasy go and accept reality. If and when Gus is fired, the next head coach will not be Sean Payton.

Not many teams can get pressure just rushing four guys all the dang time...

It's too predictable...  The opposing O-Line is never guessing where the rush is coming from.  We're playing a pre-season defense...  It's too easy...  That's not the player's fault.

No, no, no. That guy is not what you want in your organization.

Quote:That's the watermark we're going with? What's the excuse when we crap the bed next week to Houston?

The play that stands out to me, we called a safety blitz on a Tampa run, Cyp is in perfect position times it perfect but then over runs Martin who then goes on unmolested into the secondary for a huge gain.

The call was right, the package was right, the execution was even there, the freaking TALENT wasn't! That's the problem, the players on the field can't tackle they can't find the ball carrier.
Watermark?  No.  Simply stating a fact here.  Houston supposedly has one of the most talented defenses in the league with arguably the best defensive player in the NFL, and they couldn't beat a 40 year old QB.  It happens.

Attention to detail is a big problem for this team right now.  Bad angles, lousy tackling, and being out of position more often than not.  That's a problem.  When your team is ravaged by injuries, if you expect to maintain any level of effectiveness, the guys stepping into those roles need to be able to execute properly.  They're not.  Is that coaching?  Talent?  Preparation?  I think it's a whole lot of everything right now.

Ultimately, it's going to come down on the head coach, and based on how he presented in the post game presser, he clearly understands just how bad his situation is right now.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Poz was a Gene Smith aquisition, disagree about Lee he's made of glass. Blackmon is better then any WR Caldwell has brought in so if we're just going of talent Caldwell loses in the WR department.

I know we all want to believe Thomas is going to be the legit threat pass catching TE here he was in Denver but until we see it you can't count it as a plus mark for Caldwell.

Shack Harris had a better Oline by all measures than Caldwell, hell I'd take Monroe over Joeckel all day wouldn't you?

This is the worse D-line group we've had in I don't remember how long, they don't stop the run, they don't generate pass rush, they don't tackle at the point of contact.

The secondary sucks.

Yes, Blackmon is so much better than the receivers we have that are, oh, IDK, actually PLAYING FOOTBALL. If you're going to count Blackmon as a plus, you have to let Thomas count because they're doing about the same for this team.

It's a matter of time before that guy ends up in jail again. And then you'd be on here wailing about how dumb DC was to sign such an obviously troubled player.

Who cares, win me some games. You guys are unbelievable, lets not sign talent because he's not a good guy, please. He would of been a low risk high reward signing

It's really ok, you can accept that the offense is better and more talented than its been in years. It won't hurt.

Would you sign Blackmon off the street? Because Hardy is much, much worse.

except when we blitz we over run the ball carrier and he runs upfield through the secondary unmolested, that's not the coaches fault.
