Quote:2 superbowls is now not elite? mind listing all the other qbs who have 2 or more? anyway, you certainly must be shallow if you miss the point. a college qb is not going to fix this team. when big ben, rg3, and eli play behind porous lines you see what happens. look at Rodgers, one win. He did make the plays he had to make in those SB games. Can't take that away from him. But no, a truly "elite" QB that does not make. The entire body of work should be considered. JUst because Dan Marino never won a SB doesn't mean he wasn't elite, and just because bums like Trent Dilfer & Brad Johnson won SB's doesn't make them elite. Quote:Which was exactly my point when responding to FBT's post brimming with optimism that Khan has "hired the right guys" (paraphrased). You might want to look up what the term "paraphrase" means, because I've never said they hired the right guy. I know this is going to be difficult for you, but what I HAVE said REPEATEDLY is that time will tell if they've hired the right guy, and his approach is what will turn the fortunes around for this franchise. Is it really that difficult to understand? Or, is it just your agenda to really try to portray me like some yes man when that's simply not the case. You know, manufacture truth when the reality doesn't suit your needs? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

When Garrard took over as the starting QB, and he had mediocre stats across the board except for his QB rating, TMD tried to portray him as an elite QB. So, a high QB rating against rather pedestrian stats is elite, but winning two Super Bowls is just ho-hum to the bar stool diva. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:You know what's funny about the dog whimperer saying Eli Manning isn't elite? I said Garrard had an elite 2007, and he did. He never could come close again, though. Quote:Do you remember what happened to David Carr? You're wasting a pick to take a top QB only to get him shell shocked. What?! So you're saying to not draft a QB first overall because of David Carr? Is that what i'm reading? This makes even less sense than the previous statement you wrote. C'MON MAN! Quote:I said Garrard had an elite 2007, and he did. With one stat. His overall stats were pedestrian, but considering the person referring to him as elite, it's clear you're willing to settle for mediocrity as long as you're right once in a blue moon. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:With one stat. One stat?...Garrard had an elite comp %, YPA, QB rating, INT %, and winning pct that year. He also presided over the highest scoring Jags offense in team history that season....all while throwing to pretty much garbage receiving weapons. Garrard did have an elite 2007. I was correct when I said it then and I am still correct for saying it 6 years later. Garrard's problem was consistency. He could never match or really come all that close to matching that 2007 season afterwards. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
"Gray is better than Garrard *AND* Leftwich"...
That must make him "Elite" benchwarmer in TMDland.

I was correct when I said it then and I am still correct for saying it 6 years later. In 2007, "elite" David Garrard was the 18th ranked QB in the league. His "elite" completion % was ranked 10th among regular starters. His "elite" YPA was ranked 9th, His "elite" int % was probably the result of him being the 22nd ranked starting QB for number of pass attempts. His "elite" rank for pass attempts per game among starting QBs landed him at #32. Total passing yards was an "elite" 18th. Calling David Garrard "elite" in any sense of the word only makes sense if you live your life accepting mediocrity as the gold standard, or you're married to him, so I guess that explains why you are the only person on the planet calling him that because you're darn sure not Mary Garrard. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:In 2007, "elite" David Garrard was the 18th ranked QB in the league. by what measure/ stat are you getting "18th"? Thats ridiculous. There were not 17 QB that had a better season than Garrard in 2007. There just weren't. You know it too. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:by what measure/ stat are you getting "18th"?Go pull up the stats yourself on NFL.com and check that if you doubt it. Overall ranking of NFL QBs for 2007 landed him at an elite #18. I'm assuming that ranking is based on "elite" passing yards, but that's what you're greeted with as the first ranking. Keep on trying. It isn't going to get any better. Garrard was never elite, or even remotely close. He had one better than average season, and that's it. And it was only BARELY better than average. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'm assuming that ranking is based on "elite" passing yards, but that's what you're greeted with as the first ranking. LOL, the 18th ranking was in passing yards, not an "overall ranking" of 18th. The low passing yards total was more a product of the tandem of Fred & MoJo that season, rather than an indictment of how Garrard was playing that season. Disingenuous of you to imply that the low yardage totals were due to poor QB play. I knew that number was off. Garrard had a fine season in 2007, seems like you can't give him proper cred.
Been absent for a while. Nothing changed except a new looking board. TMD and FBT trying to one up each other. Even the insults are the same. Stay United, indeed.

Quote:LOL, the 18th ranking was in passing yards, not an "overall ranking" of 18th.So, the fact that it's passing yards is somehow comical? I guess I can see your point if you're trying to spin mediocrity as being elite. I know you do this on a daily basis in your own life, but it's a tough sell trying to convince people that David Garrard was ever anything even remotely close to elite status in the league. 18th in passing. Elite indeed. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
