For the loyal fans

Quote:Good luck finding a post of mine where I said Bortles sucked. I'm pretty objective with what I see; that includes the good, the bad and the ugly and all without drinking teal kool aid. TC, not you. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
My bad. Bad wording. I didn't mean to include only ticket holders...but I did state that in my OP.. what I meant by loyal fan was those who kept up the optimism during the last few weeks, while many were burying the team and Gus. Had those fans finally had their fill?
There ARE fans that are as rabid as ticket holders, but due to work and distance can't go. Yet there are many who can be there and choose not to. Those are the ones who don't fel the pain as much as those how do sit through this debaucle. if you have time to do a play by play on this MB during games, live in the area, then you can go. Point being, there are are complaints from your seats/ tailgate and there are those from the couch/ keyboard. I will say this. After this start. Who would want to shell out hard earned money on this? Season ticket holders are held hostage, however. Off to London. They'll fit right in, where they drive the wrong way there .

Had those fans finally had their fill? So you are saying you need to be optimistic to be considered a loyal fan? You are right. Season ticket holders are held hostage. I am done going to games this year and can't give them away. I'd be happy just making $10 bucks a piece on them. They are a sunk cost at this point. You would think I was trying to give away vials of the Ebola virus or something. Quote:So you are saying you need to be optimistic to be considered a loyal fan? No. I did not imply you HAVE to be optimistic. But many still were, and I was merely asking those that were keeping the light on for their lost dog, if they were ready to save on the electric bill. A guy in my section got rid of his tickets as well. But he had to sell for half. Pay for parking and provide transportation. Buyers market for sure. Look I'm as pissed as everyone else, my question was that I know some fans will keep on carrying the torch regardless and was curious if any had any positive things to say on this same old same old same old. Or is every single fan had enough? Changes won't be made with a full stadium. Maybe that's what opens Khans eyes.

Love the Jags, this year so full of hope and promise but yet we find ways to kill ourselves.
Always bought six packs and last two years season tickets. Went to the game and wife was so tired from out of town trip taking care of sick relative I had to take her home in the half since we were in the lead. Whoa........they did it again, lost after leading to the dang 'horns. I'm hoping there's a lot of soul searching during the bye week. By the players, coaches and management. I don't think they WANT to lose.....but they have to find a way to stop it. And if I hear "we learned some things" one more time I'm going to scream. Just say you screwed up....it's much more honest. This season is slipping away and we've gotten worse....again.
Because Jaguars is our mantra

As a season ticket holder I go to the game to socialize, network and enjoy entertainment i.e. Pre game, halftime and tailgate festivities.
I haven't been able to tailgate very much this season due to my wife being put on doctors orders to rest and rehabilitate from recent surgery, so the only thing we get to witness is the live game action itself. This season has been hard, but I've been able to enjoy part compartlize (sp?) conversations during the games. In the first half while they are competitive the group I'm with and I are engaged. Come the second half, once the game becomes uncompetitive we focus on stuff outside of the game. Most of the conversations is about what's going on around the NFL, College and what's going on around our personal lives. As for the expense part I can fully understand the sentiment of STH'ers not wanting to renew or just start purchasing single game day tickets. I know the experience of losing far outweighs any teal deal package or other perks members currently receive. For me I just can't give up my seats that I worked hard for even through this tough time, so I just found other ways to cut back. Wifey and the kids still enjoy the overall atmosphere on game day and we look forward to taking our annual family photo with Jaxon during either the Indy or Atlanta game.

Quote:Anyone who comes here to discuss the misery that are the Jags is a die hard fan, period! he came out of the closet. pretty sad when being a bucs fan is a much better option. Quote:My bad. Had those fans finally had their fill?Just because you are not blindly optimistic doesn't make you a better/worse fan. Anyone that could bear to admit they root for the Jags, in my eyes, should be considered "die hard" fans. There is literally zero benefit. Optimism doesn't make the fan. The pessimistic fans turned out to be correct, and the optimists were wrong. DEAD WRONG. Giving a certain side a higher rating of fandom would be the same as saying the pessimist know more about football. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Bortles sucked? Maybe one day you will spell his name right. The first pick in the end zone was on Bortles. He didn't go through all his progressions in which he both rushed and forced the pass. On the second pick, the defender was eyeing Bortles and jumped the route before Thomas even finished. The ball completely sailed as well. All of this taking place while JT had his back turned. The third pick came at a meaningless moment but Bortles made a bad read. There is a established pattern Blake has shown that he cannot stop staring down receivers, or making bad reads. On top of the 2 or 3 INT's he has thrown almost every game ,defenders miss an additional 3 they could have picked off.

Quote:Bortles sucked? Maybe one day you will spell his name right. I've already addressed your faulty explanation in another thread. Stop regurgitating the same nonsense. Just be honest with your self for once. Bortles played poorly yesterday. It wasn't just the picks it was the overthrows the wobbles and the missed open receivers. He was at a low point yesterday.
Quote:The first pick in the end zone was on Bortles. He didn't go through all his progressions in which he both rushed and forced the pass.Bingo. But then add the misses on 3rd downs and the failed reads. Hurns at one point pitched a tent down field and was begging bortles to hit him wide open. Bortles forced a pass to jt instead. Smh.
For me the experience is far more than a game or a W/L.
It's a chance to meet up with the tailgate group (20 of us). This is luxury we get only 7 times each year and we have a blast, win or lose. We joke that we always win the tailgate. The game day experience is great. seeing 50k like-minded people, dress in Jags gear, choosing to spend there Sunday just like we are. Walking in with a mass of teal and black and getting that first glimpse of the turf as you leave the concourse is always a great feeling. With that, it does become a bit demoralizing watching the mistake pile up, extending their drives or killing ours. Nothing knocks the wind out of your excitement in a close game like a pick six or a turnover deep in enemy territory. I, for one, never saw this team as a 7 win team much less a playoff contender. Young QB, young receivers, rookie RB, injured star TE and unproven O-line? Nothing there indicates to me a productive offense. But, outside the woes in the running game, I am pleased with this offense. We have a couple of budding receives and a QB with marked signs of improvement. Injured 1st pick DE, best defensive player out recovering from knee surgery, MLB recovering from season ending injury, questionable Safety play? Not insurmountable but challenging nonetheless. There's no sugar coating this, The defense is certainly a disappointment. I think we're all in agreement with Gus's hiring, we were under the impression the D would be the strong suit. Is Gus the Coach that puts this team in a winning direction? I hope so and I cheer for him but the luster has worn away. I understand those that are exasperated with consecutive losing seasons you can count on both hands. But I also know that through these dark times will only make it that much sweeter when the wins reappear. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:To the fans that have been patient and stood up for the team. Am I fed up yet? Yes. Beyond that, actually. I have gone through hope, anger, and despair, and I have now reached apathy. Quote:Sorry Money, it was not JTs fault. Bortles threw it high and outside his reach when he turned around. I'll have to watch the play, but he seemed to indicate JT turned the wrong way and was late. I would have to see play again. That was my view at the game. He didn't play poorly. It really isn't worth discussing with you either so continue beating the drum.

You get a lot of grief for being a hater...some of it seems deserved, but not this. Blake in no way, shape nor form played well yesterday. It was pretty bad. The silver lining? He eclipsed 300 yards again and 3 TDs...on a very bad day. I'm not mad at him though. I get that he's going to have bad days still...never mind that he had no <expletive> business throwing the ball 53 times.

The thing is i like bortles and desperately want him to be the franchise. But he's going to throw that chance away if he doesn't clean his game up. We can't sit here and pretend like he had 300 yards and 3 tds and leave it at that. That's overlooking a huge pink elephant in the room. |
