Quote from Shad Khan on Dave and Gus

Quote:Why do all the people who want Gus here for the rest of the year, think that the "Fire Gus" crowd has playoff expectations under Marrone? lol ... another "passion and heart" request. Yeah, just like you played in junior high.

Quote:My only problem with year one is as follows..... Do you really think fans of this, or any other team for that matter, would be willing to embrace a GM that says "I need at least 4-5 years to resurrect this franchise from the ashes"? It takes 3-4 years to determine if a draft pick is a bust or not, and no one drafts all great players. Anyone who feels conned probably had unrealistic expectations to begin with. Furthermore, Caldwell didn't sell a 3 year plan to Khan (his deal is 5 years), and I still haven't seen the link stating where he sold a 3 year plan to the fan base that everyone keeps talking about. It is what it is at this point, fellers. Caldwell has hit some, missed some. If he hits on Blake and Fowler, he'll be considered a decent GM. Gus Bradley on the other hand, is starting to prove incapable of developing talent. This team isn't where it wants to be, and they may not be where they thought they'd be at this point either, but I certainly don't blame Khan for not giving his guys a chance to right the ship before it sinks. Doug Marrone has already shown the ability to abandon a perfectly good ship; I wouldn't want him taking the reigns either.
Quote:Honest question. When was the last time an interim coach amounted to anything with the same team?Leslie Frazier and Jason Garrett both, in recent years, took over as interim HC and held onto the team's head job afterwards.
I just read the entire story at NFL.com, it is the cover story on the website. I wish people on here would quit saying how this is fluff talk by Khan, or that there is no way Bradley survives the season. You are so wrong it's not even funny. Everything Khan has ever said, and continues to say, is that he is going to be extremely patient with the process and that Dave AND Gus have his entire support. Neither of these guys is going anywhere. Seriously just quit bringing it up because it's not going to happen.

Quote:"If you know football, regrettably, it's the right thing to do." Not sure if anyone beat me to it but... (and this doesn't excuse it btw) Philadelphia Eagles: 1933-1937 Denver Broncos: 1963-1967 Buffalo Bills: 1967-1972
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Leslie Frazier and Jason Garrett both, in recent years, took over as interim HC and held onto the team's head job afterwards. So we'll never know it would have worked out had those owners been more patient. As it is, neither coach has set the world on fire since taking over. One isn't even a head coach anymore.
If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already.
- Bob Marley ![]() Quote:Not sure if anyone beat me to it but... (and this doesn't excuse it btw) Are those the only teams? One of these years.............
Quote:Are those the only teams? Arizona Cardinals: 1938 - 1945 Pittsburgh Steelers: 1937-1941 Then the teams that no longer exist: Drayton Triangles didn't win more than 5 games between 1921 and 1929. Then they stopped existing. Hammond Pros from 1920 to 1926 (Their entire existence) Minneapolis Red Jackets didn't win more than 5 games for their existence, though they stopped existing after four seasons, then came back and had two more seasons without 5 wins. Akron Indians from 1922 to 1926 Boston Yanks from 1944 to 1948 Rochester Jeffersons 1921 to 1925
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:He's still new to this. And he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to publicly start calling out people or talking about rolling heads.I thought this was the common sense part of the equation. Excellent breakdown......that is all.
Season Tix, Section 409
2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough. TLaw aka 'the prince that was promised' supporter. Quote:Look.. I get it. but you're already losing people at the stadium. The past Sunday was the lowest since the blackout days. ITS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. I'm not saying firing Gus is the right or wrong thing to do, but clearly what he is doing isn't working. If he was fired, it would inject some much needed energy into this fanbase for at least the rest of the season. It shows that you actually care, because at this point, your only concerned, in my opinion, is about 'expanding' the brand and making money regardless of the crap product your expanding. I get it, he is a very smart man and a very rich man for a reason, but he didn't make millions off of selling crappy car parts... If the team is making personnel decisions based on the whims of the fan base, move the team to London now. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Not sure if anyone beat me to it but... (and this doesn't excuse it btw) Well today's NL isn't your father's or grandfather's NFL.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
As a former Baltimore Colts fan, I can tell you right now you don't want an impetuous owner. I can remember when Robert Irsay fired a head coach in the middle of a game. Dumb moves like that basically doomed the franchise to the basement, and eventually, to Indianapolis.

Quote:lol, Now that depends on how old you are. That's a loaded question... Take a look at some of his posts and hopefully you can justify it. I'm guessing teens to low 20s. Haha.
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.
Something that's bothering me a lot.....if you keep saying "The team is in the middle of the worst slump ever.".......they'll accept the results they're getting ...well....just because.
They will never , never improve if they're told this over and over. First step out is letting them (players and coaches all the way down to the ball boys) its no longer acceptable.
Because Jaguars is our mantra

It can't be proven, but wasn't the Hamneck Henne/BB5 switch based on "whims of the fan base"? They may as well of moved the team had they stuck with Henne the entire year. He was benched because he wasn't getting it done. The fans didn't force that to happen. Bortles stepped in and immediately looked more capable. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Bortles looked more capable since preseason game #1. This organization was kidding itself acting like he was going to sit for an entire year behind that bum. Bortles should have been starting from game 1. That is what is typically expected of top picks these days. |
