Am I the only one who thinks Alabama might be #4?

Quote:So UGA deserved the preseason AP ranking #5, but because Clemson an OOC team beat them who was "ranked at a certain spot at the time" is considered to be pointless, and dosent help their SOS, even though UGA is from the ALMIGHY HERALDED SEC.

So as I stated earlier in the thread, Bama's wins vs TAMU and Ole Miss are meaningless since those 2 teams were ranked and came earlier in the season.

I think you don't like people who challenge your opinions, hence you getting frustrated and feel like you are "talking to a brick wall".
I didn't ever say the win was pointless. A win is a win is a win.

Stop reading what you want into it. It's simple comprehension. I said bringing up the fact that a team was "ranked at the time" is pointless. It matters none to the BCS.

You're clueless and read what you want.

Which is true when it comes to the BCS. That was my argument regarding the "Ranked at a certain time" statement.

The "#5 Ranking at the time" is means nothing  when it comes to week 8 and the BCS computers start doing their thing.

LOL.

So a win is a win even if a early-season win vs a highly ranked opponent is meaningless? Huh! You said it yourself that UGA deserved to be ranked #5 based off of what they did the previous year before. But all of a sudden Clemson beats them and you consider the win "meaningless" despite you saying a win is a win.

You avoid the question of whether or not Bama and Auburn's early season wins vs ranked teams is meaningless as well.

Im just summarizing what you are saying.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

There is a specific reason why I said "win(s)", and put LSU in quotation marks.

What are you not getting?  If say Ohio State beats the number 1 ranked team in the nation in week one then plays their current schedule the rest of the way winning every game, while the former number 1 ranked team winds up 5 and 6 and unranked, wouldn't you be saying that Ohio State played a soft schedule and the team they beat in week one was over rated?  As far as the computers are concerned Ohio State beat a 5 and 6 team, the computers don't care what the team was ranked in week 1, 2, 3, ect.

Quote:Gotcha,

So all those SEC teams that were (highy) ranked in the preseason AP polls basically are meaningless then?

Preseason rankings mean nothing. The only thing that matters is a team's ranking after playing games. And the AP poll is not part of the BCS formula anyway.

Thank you for your response, but this thread has already evolved beyond what you mentioned.

I have explained it to death. To the point others get it, per usual. No need to beat this horse anymore. You don't want to see it.

Face it, you didnt explain anything directly, you cant explain it, or you are afraid to explain it when it came to me asking you were Bama and Auburn's early season wins over ranked opponents meaningless.

Only you know why you cant admit.

I did explain it, numerous times, and in different ways! You can't get it because either you don't want to, or you just can't. I tend to think it's the former.

It got beaten to the point where others said they understand it completely!!
