2016 First Round Pick

Quote:Ngakoue is purely a speed rusher. Once an OT gets a hold of him it is over.

I could see a Jonathan Bullard being the type of LDE you might be looking for, also Shaq Lawson of Clemson is intriguing.

This Carl Nassib - DE - Penn State runs a 5.0/40 but has 10 sacks in 6 games. 6'7" 272 lbs - Tall and skinny. Add 28 pounds on the guy and he could be Super man. His stock is on the rise. Early 2nd may be a bit high at least for now.
Hope jags can get Nassib

Don't be surprised when Noah Spence goes in the 1st round...and maybe quite high in the 1st round.

I wouldn't mind trading back a few times to load up on draft picks again. Drafting first is too big of a gamble when you stink. This team is still lacking talent all over the field. They still need to hit it out the park a few time like "this [censored] guy Murphy". :woot:

The 49ers will have the #1 pick.

He has the talent to go in the 1st round for sure, but the only reason he might not is all the character issues he's had.

This will not shock me at all. Crazy how many teams look real bad this season. I had Bears in top 5 next year also. 9ers, Bears, Skins, Titans as my top 4 going into the season and so far they still all look possible.

Boy this Reggie Ragland is a beast.

I would be down to take Jaylon Smith in the first and then Reggie Ragland in the second.

OTTO - Jaylon Smith

MLB - Reggie Ragland

OLB - Telvin Smith

With Dante Fowler coming back? Crazy.
Shock the world

The 49ers have the Rams twice,Seahawks again ,Cardinals and the Bengals in their last 9 games. Can't see Kap winning any of them. Plus Hyde has a stress fracture.

i agree the 9ers are in dire straits, but the jaguars not being able to draft #1 and take bosa isnt really all that bad. i think hes a good player but i feel like there will be more value sitting around wherever the jaguars do pick.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

This week's Mock off-season:

Free Agency:

1. Trumaine Johnson - CB - 6'2" 208 Lbs - Rams - 4 Yrs @ 7.5 Mil/Yr

Jags grab another CB in Free Agency and line him opposite Davon House with Colvin playing Nickle, Gratz, and McCray and Marshall are the backup CBs.

2. Taushan Gipson - FS - 5'11" 205 Lbs - Browns - 4 Yrs @ 8 Mil/Yr

Gipson is betting on himself and sees himself as a Pro Bowl FS. Just what the Jags need.

3. Cordy Glenn - OLT - 6'6" 345 lbs - Bills - 4 Yrs @ 8 Mil?yr

Jags sign Glenn and move Joeckle to OLG, then trade Zane Beadles for a Rd 5 selection in the draft.

Draft:

Jags end up with a record of 5-11 and pick 9th in each round of the college draft:

Rd 1 (9) Myles Jack - Otto LB - UCLA - 6'1" 232 Lbs

Will man the Otto position and run with RBs and TEs all over the field just like Telvin Smith.

Rd 2 (41): Carl Lawson - DE (Leo) - Auburn - 6'2" 257 Lbs

Lawson should be on the field for Auburn before the end of the season. He is raw but has sick talent to play the Leo Pass Rusher and rotate with Dante Fowler Jr.

Rd 3 (73): Jonathan Allen - DE - Alabama - 6'3" 283 Lbs

Should be able to spell Jared Odrick on passing downs at the BIG DE position or move inside and play the 3 Tech DT position.

Rd 4 (109): Kyler Fackrell - LB - Utah State - 6'5" 250 lbs

Backup LB that should be able to play any of the three LB positions. Can rush the passer as well as drop and cover.

Rd 5 (145): Jonathan Williams - RB - Arkansas - 5'11" 223 Lbs

Main backup RB to T. J. Yeldon. A 1,000 yard rusher for Arkansas in 2014. Injured foot in 2015.

Rd 5 (155 - Trade of Zane Beadles): Curt Maggit - DE (Leo) - Tennessee - 6'3" 256 Lbs

A backup Leo and Otto LB.

Rd 6 (181): Bryce Williams - TE - East Carolina - 6'6" 258 lbs

Backup TE that can catch and block

Rd 6 (195 - Josh Scobee trade): Byron Marshall - Slot WR - Oregon - 5'9" 202 Lbs

Kick Return Specialist and slot WR, with RB experience.

Rd 7 (217): Reggie Northrup - LB - FSU - 6'1" 226 Lbs

Jacksonville native. Backup LB

Thoughts on taking the FSU kicker? Aguayo?

Hasn't Carl Lawson missed more games than he has played? I like the kid but for a high 2nd rounder I don't want another Lee in terms of availability....

Yes, And looking at Stigma's list, quite a few of those guys (Jack, Lawson, Williams, Maggitt, Northrup) have missed time with a serious injury.

I really think we will address mostly defense. A FS, MLB and DT are our biggest needs. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us pull the trigger on Aguyao as early as the third.

I agree on the need to focus on defense in the off-season. Disagree about taking Aguyao in the 3rd. The last 2 years Caldwell got Cann and Linder in the 3rd round. A good or even great kicker is important, but you can find those guys late in the draft. Aguyao could be a special kicker, but no way I'd take him earlier than the 5th round. Jags have too many other positions which need upgrades at this point.

Oh no I wouldn't take him in the 3rd! Probably the 5th but I would doubt he would be there.

Quote:<div>1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

Luke Joeckel has been a disappointment. He isn't horrible, but he's not very good and is beaten way too often. If the Jaguars get the top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, they could grab a franchise left tackle like Tunsil and move Joeckel to guard.

Tunsil has been held out of every game this season for "precautionary reasons" with the NCAA investigating whether he accepted improper benefits from an agent. The final game he will miss was against Memphis, and he is slated to return to the field this week against Texas A&M.

Tunsil has a ton of natural talent to be a blind-side protector. He was dominant in 2014 and arguably the best left tackle in the nation. Not only does Tunsil shut down pass-rushers, he gets movement in the ground game.

Tunsil (6-5, 305) was one of the top recruits in the nation coming out of high school. As a freshman, he validated the hype when he broke into the starting lineup and became an All-SEC Second-Team selection by the AP. The conference's coaches had him as an All-Freshman performer, and he was also named a Freshman All-American according to many media outlets.

Pick change; previously Vernon Hargreaves III, CB

I'd be happy with it....He had a really good/great game against Myles for sitting out 7 games.  Tunsil has given up 2 sacks in 2 years and 1 game.
