Andrew Luck is highly overrated

Quote:So then why is Blake blowing his numbers away this year? Oh wait, bc Luck is injured. Got it.

Indy has a historically bad O-line this year. I'm not making excuses for him, but when he's on, he's fun to watch. He's smart, knows where to go with the ball. He throws picks because he tries to fit throws into tight windows, which shows the confidence you look for in a QB. Who else does that sound like? That's right... BB5.

And, StroudCrowd talked about Blake's line. I'm sorry, our line is far superior to Indy's line. The loss of Linder hurt, but Wiz and Parnell have been excellent. Joeckel (whether you believe it or not) is improving each week, and so is Cann. I look forward to seeing our line next year when Linder is back, Cann gets to move into Beadles' spot and we either resign Wiz or hand things off to Bo. BB5 is starting to make quicker decisions as the game slows down, and that's why the Allen's are having such a breakout year.

Look, I'm not saying Luck is elite. But, he can be a very good QB with elite potential if he has time to throw and isn't being flushed from the pocket every single play. It's a pretty simple fix in Indy, and it will look a lot like what happened in Jax. Draft big men early, fill holes with free agency and hope you hit on a middle round sleeper pick. He has stellar WR's in Hilton, Moncrief, and Dorsett (when he's healthy). Fleener can also be a good TE. They just need a better line and a good, young RB to develop behind Gore, because I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank.

Has such an "elite" QB ever required so many apologists? Typically they find a way to win no matter what the situation.

Luck isn't elite. He is slightly above average.

His shoulder injury is worse than they are leading on. The team has made zero strides since letting Manning go and has actually gone backwards. I hope they keep that FO intact for many many years.

Quote:I get that he's a clot but the Luck hate is substantial with nothing of merit to back it up.

When you give up a first for T Rich and sign a couple of dinosaurs, then follow it up by drafting yet another WR...well, you may want to consider aa lineman at some point.

Simple. I've been watching him play for three years. His accuracy is bad. That isn't his lines fault. Even when he has time to throw, the passes wobble and are off the mark, people make every excuse for this guy. It's comical.

The jaguars o line, especially without linder and to top off....beadles with fasciitis, is in now way better than the jaguars.

They arguably have better weapons too.

But keep making excuses for the caveman

So, you provide no insight, other than to call Luck a caveman? Beadles, when healthy, has been pedestrian. His injury doesn't do anything but give Bowanko the opportunity for reps at guard.

And, how much better do you see Hilton, Moncrief, Gore, and Fleener over ARob, Hurns, Thomas, and Yeldon/DRob? I don't see the dropoff being that significant.

I gave insight. Did you not read where I said for three years he hasn't been accurate even when he has time?

Arob and Hilton would prob be a wash. Hurns and moncrief are both good but hurns drops a lot of passes. Then you have gore, fleener and other vets who are still good vs yeldon. Drob and jt are just coming back from injuries. D rob barely saw the field and jt looks rusty or sluggish.

Bortles has essentially played better than luck all season without jt and without drob. Beadles wasn't good before his foot, now he's worse, and we will see what happens there.

Point being is besides drops, no one is making excuses for Blake, but everyone and their mother is spewing out anything they can to make excuses for luck.

If you watch him play instead of act like a parrot you too would notice his bone headed mistakes, accuracy issues, wobblers, etc...

I agree completely with the fact that people are hard on Blake and take it easy on Luck. Both are good QB's. Luck plays on a team that was a perennial winner for years and thus has the respect of the national media. Blake plays on a team that has been the laughingstock of the league for years now, and given the mediocre/bad QB play since Brunell, he's obviously going to be critiqued more heavily. Luck also was highly touted coming out of college (as in, a can't miss prospect) and people don't like to be wrong. He'll get the benefit of the doubt until the media is finished with him and the next best thing comes along.

Luck also has been to an AFC Championship game. Even Trent Dilfer got street cred when he won a Super Bowl in Baltimore as a game manager. Playoff wins mean something. Again, not saying Luck is elite...just saying he's better than slightly average.

I don't really disagree with anything said here.

Yeah.... we've went backwards since that 2-14 season in 2011....

Quote:Good. I hope Grigson stays a bit longer and puts them into a deeper hole into the prime of Luck's career.

It is about time the loyalty of their fanbase is tested.

My guess is they would be a candidate to relocate to San Diego or St. Louis eventually.
I think that, at this point, you could pick a poster off this message board at random and they'd be a better GM than Grigson.

The Colts have a new stadium and a long lease. They aren't going anywhere. Besides, who needs 60,000 fans to show up when you've got 30,000 that sound like 80,000?

But the question remains, "who is Andrew Luck?"

You must be getting annoyed. Literally everything i've said the last few years is showing up big time.

Your GM is awful

your QB isn't a top qb

your head coach is poor

Reggie Wayne was done

All the big priced free agents have been awful

Full house? You are what I thought you were.

You can deny it all you want, but Luck WAS a top QB this first 3 years (especially in years 2 & 3). Year 3 he was easily top 5 or 3. Deny it all you want, but the tape and stats say otherwise. Luck has struggled this year, obviously. Whether he's injured or all the hits/pressure he's taken is finally getting to him IDK.

I've always said Chuck Pagano has been a poor head coach, we've actually agreed on this.

Reggie Wayne was NOT done, at all. He looked like his old self until he got re-injured mid season, which basically made him drop off big time.

The free agents have been 50-50 IMO. This year....

Good: Gore, Lowery, Langford

Bad: Johnson, Herremans, Cole

Eh idk about that. The colts are a mess. Luck was the beneficiary of inflated stats and terrible competition within the division.

He can be a winning QB if the situation he is in is ideal. I guess that's why they used a high draft pick on a wide out.

He needs more weapons to bail him out.

Not true.

In 2013 his WRs were: Hilton, Rogers, DHB, Whalen.

In 2014 his WRs were: Hilton, rookie Moncrief, Hakeem Nicks, and an injured Wayne.

Not to even mention our RB situation those 2 years...

Wayne was good when he played.

2014 was the only year I'd say that luck actually had a really good year, now watching him this season you can see that was an outlier and the norm is more like what you're seeing now.

Again his stats are inflated. He throws the ball a ton. Heck, maybe that's why his shoulder is jacked up.

Either way anyone who watches him play should be able to see his flaws.

In 2014, Wayne was good for the first 5 or so weeks. Then he got injured and his play went downhill.

He had 1 catch in 3 playoff games. ONE. Only 5 total targets, too.

to be honest, the only two actual good games luck had in 2014 outside of the division was against a trainwreck washington, and the bengals. the rest of his performances were overall forgettable.
