Quote:You need to look at the big picture. Contrary to the liberal view of companies, profits aren't everything. Profit margin is.Since you ignored my previous post to you, I will post again a clip from the article. I am sure his financial suicide is why revenue is up: Revenue is growing at twice the rate it was before Chief Executive Dan Price made his announcement this spring, according to a report on Inc.com. Profits have doubled. Customer retention is up, despite some who left because they disagreed with the decision or feared service would suffer. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Since you ignored my previous post to you, I will post again a clip from the article. I am sure his financial suicide is why revenue is up: Since you ignored what I had to say, explain why revenue is all of the sudden growing and profits have "doubled". Is it the business model? Or could it be because the books reflect this after the owner sells all of his stocks, takes mortgages on homes and drains his retirement savings to put the money back into the business? Explain what exactly makes this business so "profitable" and a "success". I'm up for a bit of entertainment. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I addressed the question in your post. I did not ignore what you said. You asked "why are profits increase" Probably because revenue is increasing? Increased revenue is a pretty solid way to increase profits. The article did not state why they are up exactly but you chose to assume the worst with little to nothing to back that up. Revenue is up as are profits, with the information we have that should be considered a success, that is if you don't want them to fail due to your initial reaction that his raising wages will cause them to fail. Surely you of all people do not have a bias leading you to conclusions based on little to no evidence either way? Please explain what exactly makes this business not profitable or successful. I'm up for some spin.
What I'm getting out of this thread is that Gravity is the Michael Sam of businesses.

I really don't see anything wrong with re-investing into your own business.
Betting on yourself is essentially what every business owner starts out doing.

Selling stocks and putting money into the business does not affect profits. It's merely a financial sheet adjustment. I've been putting money into my business for 20 years.
