Sucks for the Browns, that would have been a fleecing!

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">A potential Joe-Thomas-to-Denver deal that both sides were working on up until the deadline did not get completed, per league sources.

Whelp, that's a wrap.  There's a reason the NFL trade deadline is so quiet: NFL GMs know the value of picks.  Fans apparently don't.

Players for picks crowd about as quiet as the rest of the NFL now.

Exactly and we're stuck with these bums now. So no pass rush will continue.

Can't win this division in 2015 during the offseason.

You have too much faith. You cannot win in this league without pressure. You need to disrupt the QB and we are completely unable to do so. EJ manuel was on edge until he realized he could be comfortable in the pocket because our rush just wasn't getting there. When you run this zone defense all you need is a little time to find the soft spot in the coverage. This scheme will be picked apart if you cannot generate pressure.

Trust me, i don't have too much faith.  I'd be shocked if we won the division.  Everyone here knows we have an issue with pressure.  That includes Caldwell.

Just wait until the season goes on and they start to wear down. Gonna be hillarious.

Start to wear down from what?  They are creating basically zero pressure now, can't get much worse.  Babich and Bradley are going to have to realize they need to blitz more.  It was working against the Bills until they decided to stop.

I think this will be a point of emphasis this offseason.  Fowler will help too!

It's funny.  This time last year, people were complaining that, despite the fact that our pass rush was improved, that it was all smoke and mirrors being done by scheming things up to help guys like Branch get sacks.  Somehow that was a bad thing then.

Fast forward to this season, and the pass rush is struggling to gain some consistency, and you think that the magic bullet is a trade.  Didn't happen.  Move on.  The team has been decimated by injuries, but they've gotten enough of their guys back on that side of the ball to scheme things up to get pressure on the QB.  Saying you can't win in this league without pressure is true, but you CAN win within this division, and that's what matters.  We're in week 8 of the season, and we're in a position to actually compete for the division title despite not having a consistent pass rush.  The division is that bad.

With or without a pass rush, the Jags are in a good spot to potentially win the division.  If things start to click and they begin cobbling together more effective play more consistently, the wins will start to happen, and if and when that happens, they've got a legitimate shot of winning the division in spite of them not going out and throwing away picks for guys who might, or might not help this team.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
