Very. I think the odds of a deal are pretty low, though. No one's going to give up a high pick for a guy they'll just end up cutting in February because his salary is insane, and Kap might just be worth more then a fifth-rounder to the 49ers. There are a couple of options for a team that wants Kap, but doesn't want that contract:

1. Negotiate an extension with Kap before pulling off the trade

2. Make the deal for a conditional pick, say a five that escalates to as much as a two if Kaepernick is still on the roster shortly after the new league year starts

I could see the 49ers taking either deal, but then again, I could also see a team like the Jets or Eagles just giving up as much as a three for Kap, knowing that they'll potentially get stuck eating his massive salary.

I'll also throw this out: if the Jets trade for Kap and immediately start him against Jacksonville, he'll be Josh Freeman'd in a matter of four quarters.

As a guy that has watched Kaep a lot I have no idea why any team would trade for him, he's extremely limited in between the ears. The guy can't read defenses and doesn't process information fast enough, he's nothing more than a backup QB in this league, just like RGIII.

This.  I am and will never claim to be an expert, but I could never figure out why this guy got so much love in the media.  Was it that Harbaugh just had that much pull?  I don't get it.

Tebow won in Denver and he still received scorn.

It is quite mind boggling that Tebow couldn't ever become anything at QB in the NFL.

Yet his resume is still better (prior to the Jets) than many guys getting chances left and right.

No it's not. He's a glorified fullback with a limp arm. If he hadn't played at a high-profile school under a high-profile coach, and if he hadn't had an aura and marketing draw the size of a boat designed to fit two of every animal species on Earth, no team would ever have considered him as a QB prospect. At least, not in the draft. My money's that he would have ended up being converted to tight end.
