A good read on the need for some control amongst college coaches
|
I found this article from the Chicago Tribune via a Twitter follow I have that's known as the Positive Coaching Alliance. Thought some folks here might like to read it, but you will have to register with the Tribune in order to get access.
<p style="margin-left:40px;"> <p style="margin-left:40px;">"... <p style="margin-left:40px;">'Coaches often get on players to be calm under pressure, show discipline, yet the head coach can't even do that. Players will often model the behavior of their coach.' <p style="margin-left:40px;">..."
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Why try to bother to control a program at all, when you can just fake a heart attack and jump ship once it gets too bad?
:teehee:
"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."
I think you missed the point Pirkster, and it's kinda my fault since I didn't word the title all that well. It's really more about how Programs need to hold their Coaches accountable when they lose control, much like how Notre Dame should have done something to Kelly when he grabbed an AC on the sidelines.

I did miss the point, and on porpoise.
My bad. I didn't intend to mock your article/point - just Urbs.

"Do as I say, not as I do."
"Expect for the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes."
Quote:"Do as I say, not as I do." That happens every day with me and my mom, who refuses to accept the fact there are double standards here. I think it is human nature for people with any level of authority to assume this is acceptable behavior because everybody does it to some extent. That obviously includes coaches and athletic directors. |
