Mariota like a mini-Cam Newton

Marcus Mariota is a smaller version ofCam Newton, with more accuracy as a passer than Newton at the same age (although Newton is much improved now). When you see what Mariota did against Washington and Washington State, two pretty good defensive teams; vs. Tennessee, a fast defensive team; and UCLA, a great defensive team, you have to be impressed. Many people might say, "Well, yeah, but what about his game against Stanford?" I think he did pretty well in the second half after making adjustments. He's a player I'd pick to build my NFL franchise around.

 

What a dumb thing for Brandt to highlight. Cam was riding the bench behind Tebow and on the verge of getting expelled from Florida at 20-years-old, wasn't he? We had no idea what kind of passer he was.

 

Mariota isn't nearly as talented as Newton. He's a Kaepernick type, which I wouldn't be too eager to compare anyone to at this point in time.

Ej is quite abit bigger, he's like 6'5. Boyd is only like 6'0 - 6'1. But playstyle wise, I could see that. Both have are strong runners, just aren't consistent with their throwing.

Cam might be the most physically talented QB in the NFL. Big, strong, fast, has a cannon, and has finally learned to play QB at the NFL level. He'll only keep getting better.

Cam is the only qb from the spread option system I would take at the pro level.

 

He is an absolute monster, if they can get deep threats like ginn, the panthers are going to crush teams on a consistent basis

Oh what could have happened had Newton not stolen that laptop at UF. Cam would have rewritten every record in the book with a surrounding cast of Harvin, Hernandez, Cooper, Murphy, Demps, Rainey...wow.

 

Also, Tebow would have switched to TE earlier like he should have and he would probably have a productive NFL career right now.

Blame the NFL media. A month or so ago all the draft "experts" started putting him first on their draft board, ahead of Bridgewater. They bought high on the kid and then he gave them some absolute duds. I think the kid can still develop into a NFL quarterback but he really needs to stay in school.

Cam would have never had a chance to play with Harvin, Hernadez, Murphy, or Cooper because he would have been stuck behind Tebow. He would have been left with just Demps and Rainey.
