Alright lads and gents, on Nov 30th FSU will travel down to Gainesville to take on the Gators. Despite what has happened with UF this season, it is the BEST rivarly in CFB hands down.

 

Im leaving my family up north early to travel back to JIA to make it to the game on Saturday.

 

The top 3 games (in my lifetime) between the Noles and Gators are:

 

1. 2003 FSU 38 UF 34- Ill never forget Rix hitting PK for the GW TD, I snuck over to my buddies dorm in Landis Hall and we broke a couple of beers from being so excited, then of course the fight after the game.

 

2. Choke at Doak in 94 Tie game- Watching this game I thought FSU could never come back and sure they did. I didnt know at the time college games ended in ties, but to me I always look at that like a win.

 

3. 2010- Fish's first win vs. UF.

 

What are some of yalls most memorable games in this rivarly?

I bet Florida gives them a game for a half.  But emotion and intensity can only carry you so far.  Eventually talent takes over.  FSU pulls away and wins big in second half.

You don't know any other rivalry if you think FSU vs. UF is the greatest one in the nation. It is not even close. The Kansas/Missouri rivalry is based on the Civil War, so its name is Border War. Army/Navy is the oldest one. Ohio State/Michigan is probably also based on history: a fight over possession of Toledo. Some Gators fans say there is more bad blood with the Georgia Bulldogs than the Seminoles, who play in a different conference.

 

Of course, even though Florida needs a miracle to win next week, I will watch that game if it does not coincide with The Game - Ohio State at Michigan - because I know a lot of #2 teams have lost to unranked teams in recent years, so it can happen to FSU. Didn't an unranked team just beat #5 Oregon?

Will Muschamp is a second half coach. I have seen it over and over and over again: Lots of mental mistakes in the first half, lots of big plays in the second half.

Maybe not recently in the last 5-9 years but overall in terms of top ranked teams meeting at the end of the season with a possible BCS or NC game apperance on the line, FSU/UF rivalry has that.

I don't have allegiance to either team. Like them both. There have been times that I have found myself disliking both teams. Not because of the team itself, but because of their obnoxious fans. FSU fans, chalk this one up. It's a no-brainer. More importantly, remember how stupid the Tebowites looked for the past several years, and tainted so many people's view of the Gators. You're going to win, so do so with dignity as fans.

 

Don't be the reason that a casual fan may come to dislike your team.

 

I hope it's a close game and no injuries. I feel it will be neither. It won't be close, and any pride of the Gators needs to be put on IR immediately if not sooner.

I hope that UF's record hurts FSU so much that it may affect them in the BCS. It's all I got.....

 

Also, when it comes to rivalries, UF-FSU is not close to the best one in college football.
