Mariotta
66% completion percentage 1, 610 passing yards (missed some games) 13 tds 5 ints 101.5 rating yeah, Bortles is clearly better Bridgewater leading a much better team 65% completion percentage fewer turnovers (which wins games) yeah man, Bortles is "flat out" much better than them!!
Quote:Go home. Bortles is flat out much better than Mariotta and Bridgewater.oh and btw, Winston will be over Bortles by next year's end.
Quote:Its pathetic when trolls that have no real concept of football are given numbers to use when they have no idea as to what they mean. 100% accurate. Bortles is the best player on the team. He makes the WRs better like most good/great QBs do. The future arrow is pointing straight up if the Jags can get a defense. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:oh and btw, Winston will be over Bortles by next year's end. You're beyond clueless. Bridgewater will be a backup in 2 years like RG3. Winston isn't even the best QB on his own roster.....Mike Glennon is....29 TD- 15 INT and better comp %
Quote:oh and btw, Winston will be over Bortles by next year's end. You really have it in for Blake, don't you? We all know that statistics can be used to show any outcome a person desires, so what exactly is it beyond the numbers that has you so seemingly convinced he is and will always be a colossal failure? Simply put, the kid has improved his game by a visible margin from year 1 to year 2. It is not unreasonable to expect that trend to continue forward until he peaks in ~4 years. There are definitely parts to his game that he needs to clean up and I personally believe he can and will when he isn't being asked to do so much offensively. As I said elsewhere, I haven't watched a single Mariotta snap. Nor will I (tack hate) until we play them. As a result, I'm not going to sit here and say he sucks. His numbers look solid for a first year QB. Good for him. But Bridgewater, who I have watched, has shown me nothing to make me think he's anywhere near BB in terms of the QB he can be. He's a reliable starter/game manager who's going to have a high completion percentage because he doesn't take chances/shots downfield and that's fine when you build a strong team around him (ala Alex Smith or Garrard). Having said all that, Derek Carr is balling and I'm honestly glad he is considering the questions surrounding his lineage. I still maintain his brother could have been a good QB behind a decent offensive line. The pounding David Carr took as a Texan was disgusting and the fact that he can still walk is somewhat shocking. I'm glad he's getting that monkey off his back but let's also not pretend Oakland doesn't have a superior head coach, superior offensive line and a respectable rushing attack, which we all know are a QBs best friends.

Quote:You really have it in for Blake, don't you? Honestly, I don't care about Merryfritatta at all. But I have been watching him play, just to get an idea where certain posters come from in terms of evaluating talent. It's night and day difference between MM and BB5. People that bash BB5 but think MM is on his way to being a good QB prove they aren't really very smart, or are not really watching BB5 and MM playing, they only watch one or the other. MM is in fact a 1 read pony. I don't care what any other poster says. I have not watched every snap MM has thrown this season. But I've watched the last 3 games he's played. The vast majority of his passes are quick reads. And when he get's in trouble is when he holding the ball too long and tries to go through his progressions. This is not to say he won't figure it out. But he's got a lot of work to do. I don't hate MM, he seems like a decent dude with a good head on his shoulders. But he's no BB5. He's the best rookie QB in the NFL. But that's not saying much. trollers trollin hard this morning....
BB5 is on pace for 4400 yards, 34 TDs Teddy has thrown for fewer yards and TDs so far. Leans hard on AP and a very good D. Manages the game. He's a game manager. That's fine, until they need the QB to win them the game. Carr has a couple more TDs and fewer INTs, but one could also say has a better team around him, and throwing for fewer yards. Mariota and Jameis are way behind. I know its hard to look with untrollerific eyes... and it is OK if other teams have good QBs too.... I think Carr will be good for a long time. I look forward to years of Jags VS Raiders in the playoffs. But the Teddy love should stop. Even if the Bortles hate doesn't. Bridgewater will never be more than Garrard v. 2.0 Bank it. In 5 years he'll be a top 10 (or 5) QB in this league. Watch the games and stop focusing solely on his mistakes because those mistakes will disappear with a couple of years of experience, but he'll continue to be more and more of a dynamic playmaker. You're making yourself look silly with this made up negativity about Blake. Focus on Branch or Clemons being bad because that would make a lot more sense than you current target. Quote:how many turnovers is he on pace for? What is he on pace for with his completion %? some reason you left that out The basic law of averages dictate that the more times you throw the ball (honestly, his APG is too high imo), the more likely you are to throw an interception. This same basic law also dictates that the further you throw the ball downfield, the less likely it is to result in an incomplete pass. So what you're saying is you'd rather he be a Checkdowner instead of a Gunslinger? Got it. What's that saying about pleasing some of the people all of the time?

He chops his nose to spite his face. -Etrigan the Demon Quote:how many turnovers is he on pace for? What is he on pace for with his completion %? some reason you left that outnot sure how you set a pace for completion %.... he is just under 60% now.... I suppose he is on pace for just under 60%? he is on pace for 22 total turnovers (10 INTs and 1 fumble lost) even still... Teddy's check downs and 6 TDs tell me why his comp % is high and INTs are low. less chances to screw up. GAME MANAGER. people whined last year about Fisch doing too much screens and high % passes... now a new OC has us taking more shots and people whine.... surprise. I don't care what the stats say at the end of the day. ESPNS QBR has Fitzy ahead of Brady, so yeah. PFF graded Rodgers out as less than Bortles the other week. Stats can lie. They only tell a certain part of the story. You have to take stats, situations, eye test, and "feel" into effect. "Feel" like when your QB takes the podium does he feel like a franchise QB, does he say the right things and then do the right things. Does he act the right way on and off the field.... When I combine all that, the high number of turnovers and low comp % don't bother me so much when thinking about how it is allowing our QB to grow naturally. As opposed to bottling him up in some safe offense waiting for him to get ousted in the playoffs when you have to score TDs to win.... THE ONLY argument anyone can say about Bortles that holds any water is that we could have selected Carr in round 2 and done just as well or possibly better (then again Carr here, with Fisch, and a much younger team might not have fared so well) The world may never know.... |
