I keep forgetting that only one of either blake or Marcus is allowed to be good. Can't people just get over their egos and admit that both are playing well for where they are in their careers.

Quote:I don't know how you can say that bortles is a legit qb but mariota is just not completely terrible. You said teddy Bridgewater was great also. He's closer to the arena league than he is great. Backup in 2 years Quote:You said teddy Bridgewater was great also. He's closer to the arena league than he is great. Backup in 2 yearsrocdee had him ranked 2 spots above Bortles, lol. His checkdowns make Gabbert checkdowns look like 30 yard bombs.
Anyone who watched teddy and Bortles in college could see Blake was the better QB. Blake came back down 21 and beat him on the road. Teddy was a check down artist at Louisville and let all his 4 star players like devante Parker do all the work. Blake actually made his UCF WRs better like he is with a-Rob and Hurns.......you seen the Vikings WR stats?! Bahahahaha. Teddy isn't in the same league

Quote:I don't know how you can say that bortles is a legit qb but mariota is just not completely terrible. I'm sorry, I don't have any respect for Spread Offense QBs... You're best hope is that you wind up with a Russel Wilson type QB, and let's face it, MM doesn't even seem to be very mobile in the NFL. So what do you have at this moment? A one read QB that is not very accurate on his long range balls... I'm not saying he won't continue to develop. I'm just saying that the type of QB he is doesn't have a very good history of success in the NFL... He's very frail framed, meaning he's skinny. His arm needs work in terms of accuracy. And here is where it's obvious that stats lie. You can sit there and tell me that MM has a 65% completion rate, but man... Those types of passes he make is not going to make your team successful long run. He's gonna have to really work on his game to become a legitimate QB that can make it in the NFL. On the other hand, BB5 looks night and day different this year then last. He's progressed immensely from last year. Last year he had no idea what was going on. He's a different QB this year from last. We're seeing the progress. And while there are some issues, there's more good than bad now. Maybe your boy will progress as the year ends and next year he takes that leap from being 1 read and check down to actually being a bit more competent as a QB. But I'm sorry, he's not there yet. I mean, do you honestly think Marsroveriota is showing the tools of a 2nd year QB? Because if you do, you're either not watching other NFL games or you are lying to yourself. But he's doing well for a rookie. I mean what more do you expect from him? To be playing like the 9th best passer in the NFL? Come on, that's being unrealistic--and it's setting you up for disappointment. Quote:I'm sorry, I don't have any respect for Spread Offense QBs... Is he doing well? I say yes, but let's see what happens when good defensive teams get a little bit of a read on him. He may end up just fine, time will tell. Bacon's biggest problem in this whole debate is the constant cherry picking to try and win some big contest or something. The numbers Marcus has an advantage in matter, when he's behind Bortles they don't. He so determined to be right, he comes off looking more like a fanboy than someone with actual football smarts. Don't feel bad bacon, I was the same way with Blaine on here. Hope it ends better for you (or maybe I don't), but until you have more than a six game sample - restraint would be my advice. Quote:wonderlic has Nothing to do with smarts. Some people are just poor at tests I wasn't arguing against you. I was giving supporting evidence.

Last season, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles attempted deep passes on only 10.3 percent of his attempts, 30th-highest in the league. This year, he leads the lead with 20.3 percent of his passes traveling 20 or more yards in the air, while also leading the league with 835 yards on those deep passes. Zimmer is being very careful with his QB. Coddling is cool. Quote:The problem is he talks like he's already climbed the ladder. Is he doing well? So why is an 8 game sample in his 2nd year enough to call Bortles legit, but a 6 game sample in Mariota's rookie year isn't enough? Given the improvement Bortles has shown in his 2nd year, and the improvement all players have generally, it stands to reason that Mariota will get even better. If you guys are wiling to crown Bortles as a legit franchise QB, then Mariota is as well.
Why don't you terds wait until the end of next season, then have the BB vs. MM debate.

I guess Trent Dilfer "led" the 2000 Ravens to the Super Bowl. Bridgewater has quite clearly regressed in year two. Blake has improved.
