Blake Bortles is non-canon arm Brett Favre

Hate having to explain things to you guys, because I know you're smart, but you are so interested in playing "Gotcha" games, that you're throwing context to the side. Here goes:
there was a poster in this thread (think it may have been Kane. Maybe Anchorman.) that said that the Titans had more talent than us. Now take my comment in mind with that. Read through and you'll see it. Quote::woot: Our galaxy is called the Milky Way, not to be confused with the delicious chocolate bar. But is it really a chocolate bar when it has nougat and caramel? I said their D was playing better than ours. I don't think I commented on the overall talent. However tacks have more veterans at positions like WR and Oline. I suppose you could say their Oline is worse than ours, or that Bortles has made our oline look better than it is... either way.... Bortles>Eminem
Quote:You guys make great and logical arguments for Blake Bortles and ruin all of that by making literally the worst nicknames for Mariota. MaryToyota? Really? Yeah, Anch is channeling Blake a little too much here. He's trying WAY too hard to make something out of nothing... Although, I'm ashamed to say I laughed at MaryToyota.

Quote:Funny. For mere fact look at each lines. You can't throw the ball down the field much with defenders constantly in your face.Bortles has more long and deep field passes than any other NFL qb right now... Quote:Hate having to explain things to you guys, because I know you're smart, but you are so interested in playing "Gotcha" games, that you're throwing context to the side. Here goes: So either they have to admit Mariota is indeed doing more with less, or now they had to accept the fact that the Titans are just an overall better more talented team. The cognitive dissonance is strong.
From PFF
Most likely to take the long shot Most deep passing yards: Blake Bortles (Jaguars), 835 yards Single-season Record: Eli Manning (Giants), 1,419 yards (2011) No quarterback has thrown for more yards on deep passes through the first nine weeks of the season (since 2007) than Blake Bortles. His mark of 835 yards tops the 780 that Drew Brees racked up by the same stage of the 2008 season, and puts the Jags’ signal caller on track to challenge Eli Manning’s mark of 1,419 deep passing yards, which he set in 2011 en route to his second Super Bowl victory. Unsurprisingly, Bortles’ favorite targets, Allen Robinson (381) and Allen Hurns (285), lie second and fifth, respectively, in receiving yardage on deep passes. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/20...erlatives/ We show less advertisements to registered users. Okay so Mark Brunell didn't play his rookie year, (like Blake wasnt supposed to) and he only played two games in his 2nd year.. but his third year he played 13 games in Jacksonville...
Mark Brunnell 1995 346 att, 201comp, 58.1%, 2,168 yards, 6.3avg, 15TD, 7INT, 23 20+, 1 40+, (39 sack), 82.6 Rate 1996 557 att, 353comp, 63.4%, 4,367 yards, 7.8avg, 19Td, 20INT, 40 20+, 13 40+, (50 sack), 84 Rate Blake Bortles 2014 475 att, 280comp, 58.9%, 2,908 yards, 6.1avg, 11TD, 17INT, 37 20+, 6 40+, (Sack 55), 69.5 Rate 2015 311 att, 175comp, 56.3%, 2,193 yards, 7.1avg, 17TD, 10INT, 39 20+, 6 40+, (sack 25), 83.2 Rate From looking at those stats one thing is clear.. Blake is a deep throwing gun slinger like Brett Favre was.. while Blake can run as good as Mark Brunnell... Blake has a cannon arm give him time to throw (better Oline protection) and he will be lethal...

Quote:Okay so Mark Brunell didn't play his rookie year, (like Blake wasnt supposed to) and he only played two games in his 2nd year.. but his third year he played 13 games in Jacksonville... Here's another comparison to consider. Big Ben, whose game and presence appear somewhat similar to Bortles, took the league by storm early on. Eventually, however, teams gathered up tape on Ben and started to figure out how to play him. The following stats for his third season in the NFL...
Ben Roethlisberger (2006): 15 starts, 280 of 469 (59.7%) for 3,513 yards (7.5 YPA), 18 TDs and 23 INTs for a qb rating of 75.4.
----- sacked 46 times; rushed 32 times for 98 yards (3.1 ypc) and 2 TDs; 5 fumbles with 2 lost.
Bortles is on pace for a much better second season than Big Ben's third season. I like to think that Bortles is the league's next Roethlisberger, and seeing stuff like this makes me think that's not too much ask for.
