Week 12 NFL Games of Interest
|
I am back to starting this thread on Wednesday from now on. Here are all of the Week 12 games.
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) Games Philadelphia Eagles @ Detroit Lions - 12:30 Carolina Panthers @ Dallas Cowboys - 4:30 Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers - 8:30 Sunday, November 29 EARLY Games Minnesota Vikings @ Atlanta Falcons St. Louis Rams @ Cincinnati Bengals New Orleans Saints @ Houston Texans Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Indianapolis Colts San Diego Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans New York Giants @ Washington Redskins Sunday, November 29 LATE Games Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers - 4:00 Pittsburgh Steelers @ Seattle Seahawks - 4:25 New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos - 8:30 Monday, November 30 Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns There are no idle teams this week. The Packers will retire #4 at halftime. That game will be televised on NBC instead of the usual NFL Network. It will be great to see Brett Favre at Lambeau Field again! I will be thankful for that tomorrow. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:In Ireland we call Thanksgiving day, Thursday. Fixed it for people outside America. Will you watch any of the games? Quote:I am back to starting this thread on Wednesday from now on. Quote: It's been a while since the St. Louis Football Cardinals have played a game. But it's good to see ' Big Red' back even if it's an inadvertent mistake. OMG I can't believe I did that! Yes, that error was inadvertent. It is fixed now. Quote:OMG I can't believe I did that! Yes, that error was inadvertent. It is fixed now. It brought back memories of Jim Hart ,Terry Metcalf, Roy Green, and many other former St. Louis Cardinals players.
D6 who do you think will win the Eagles/Lions game? Both teams are looking bad this year.
Quote:D6 who do you think will win the Eagles/Lions game? Both teams are looking bad this year. I'm not the most objective person when it comes to this question. But considering the Lions played much better in the last two games than what was the case prior to the bye, I'm cautiously optimistic the Lions will win this game providing Calvin Johnson and Darius Slay ( both listed as questionable ) play in the game. Slay has been playing at a very high level of late, including his performance against Amari Cooper this past Sunday. The Eagles have multiple injuries on Offense, including at QB. They are also coming off a horrible Defensive performance against the Bucs. Other than the two Lions injuries ( I think both players will play ), my # 1 concern is the Eagles Offense is difficult to prepare for in a short week. The improved Lions Defensive play of late has raised Teryl Austin's coaching stock again and even on a short week I think there's a good chance the Lions will be ready for the shorthanded Eagles Offense. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport still sees Bradford as a long shot to play on Thanksgiving against the Lions.

Looks like the Lions will benefit from a few Eagles injuries. Quote: It brought back memories of Jim Hart ,Terry Metcalf, Roy Green, and many other former St. Louis Cardinals players. I like it! I haven't thought about those guys in a long, long time. Roy Green,, man was he good! Quote: Jason Peters is a top level LT. If he's even limited in the game, that should give Ziggy Ansah more opportunties at getting pressure on whoever is playing QB for the Eagles. Jason Kelce is the glue to the Eagles Offensive Line. If Kelce doesn't play, I would be disappointed if the Lions don't noticeably win the battle in the interior. The two skill players out with concussions for the Eagles are significant losses for them. Having said that, I'm concerned about the impact Darren Sproles could have both as a RB and as a Punt Returner. If you enjoy watching high level receiving RBs, this game is a potential treat with Sproles on one side and Theo Riddick on the other.
Is anybody going to watch all three Thanksgiving Day games? Mom does not want to wait until 7:45 to eat, so I will have to miss some of the Panthers/Cowboys game. But I will watch as much of that one as possible.

Roy Green was indeed a differential weapon for Big Red. He was one of the best returners in his day, not to mention what he provided as a WR. Mel Gray was another huge weapon for them. In terms of Offense, the Cardinals were loaded!
The sad thing is after the Cardinals move out of St. Louis, they sucked for what seemed like forever. Now everybody loves them and they are in the driver's seat for #2 in the NFC. I expect them to fly high over the 49ers.

I expect them to fly high over the 49ers. Except for a handful of teams, especially in the mid 1970's, the St. Louis Cardinals were a losing football team as well. Right now, the Arizona Cardinals are at least from my perspective one of the top 3 teams in the NFL. With the two unbeaten teams being the other two. The Cardinals might be the most balanced team in the NFL on both sides of the ball. I would be surprised if the Cardinals didnt beat the 49ers by double digits.

Most people seem to think Arizona is the "most complete" team in the NFL. I don't know how they come up with that instead of the unbeaten Patriots and Panthers. I don't know how they come up with that instead of the unbeaten Patriots and Panthers. At present, New England has too many injuries to be the most complete team. They have major issues at WR and on the Offensive Line because of injuries. Carolina doesn't have a big time passing game. Both those teams certainly have the potential to win the Super Bowl. But in terms of balance on Offense and Defense combined, the Cardinals seem to have the best combo in the NFL going into week # 12.

The Packers need a win tomorrow night, and not just for Brett Favre. Quote:That is going to suck for Green Bay. The Packers need a win tomorrow night, and not just for Brett Favre. If WR Alshon Jeffrey is able to play in this game for the Bears and isn't significantly limited by his injuries, the Bears have a realistic chance. W/o Jeffrey at a relatively healthy level, I would be surprised if the Bears won the game. The Packers Defense is playing better of late after having problems in their two previous road games ( Broncos and Panthers ). That, combined with Eddie Lacy having his best game in a long time ( in Minnesota ) after sitting out against the Lions the week before, will probably be enough for the Packers to win this game when the dust settles. The emotion of Brett Favre night, with Bart Starr being present, could easily give the Packers an emotional lift in what is clearly a very important game for them. |
